    AI in the Workplace

You're on an Everton forum and are surprised that a tool that promises to widen inequality significantly is looked at with skepticism. You've been here long enough to understand that Bryan.

    AI in the Workplace

*I study AI in the workplace for a Swiss university. As context.

    AI in the Workplace

Initial studies have shown the biggest users of the tech tend to be those with the least understanding of how it works. @Bkk Andy

    AI in the Workplace

It feels a bit of a baby and bathwater approach. We had OpenAI's Chief Economist arguing recently that ChatGPT was a consumer tool, not a workplace tool (perhaps in response to the MIT study showing that 95% of AI pilots didn't produce results). We've also had instances where it's been used in...

    AI in the Workplace

A recent study from Stanford (https://stanforduniversity.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4Mjwa0jWw2Pu3TE) found that people are often using GenAI to take intellectual shortcuts, thus giving them the appearance of greater efficiency. Unfortunately, a lot of the output is so bad that it requires more...

At least you're not using it on here :coffee:

    Putting flags on lampposts

Without disputing you, or indeed the evident virtue of learning new languages, that has been a sector really hammered by AI (from a professional perspective). What's more, it's been particularly hard on entry-level roles.

    Putting flags on lampposts

I don't dispute that we do need politicians to revert to simply telling the truth, it's just hard to see how that works in an age where most of us get news in very bite-sized chunks, and soundbites tend to not only land more but transmit more widely when they're negative and play on our base...

    Putting flags on lampposts

How do you suggest we have this kind of conversation? I ask because information does tend to be out there, but perhaps not in a format or on a platform that reaches the masses, but the platforms that do reach the masses don't tend to provide reliable information.

The real concerns you talk about are almost never caused by migrants, it's just "the other" is a useful scapegoat for politicians to use, as in group/out group psychology is as old as time. It's just a shame that people don't realise they're being played.

    2025/26 Beto

He's 6'4", or the same height as Van der Ven, who caused us all sorts of problems at set pieces. Even aside from the direct balls up to him, I can't remember him doing anything from set pieces into the box either. He's listed as 88kg. The man's a unit. As a point of contrast, he's around 4kg...

    2025/26 Beto

I'm not sure I'm seeing the effort really. Marcus Bent was pretty limited, but he played a crucial role in us getting 4th spot because of the effort he put in. Beto is hopeless at finishing and doesn't really seem to do much to help the team in other ways either.

    2025/26 Beto

You can forgive him for being technically quite weak, but for such a big man he gets bullied so much and hardly ever wins anything in the air. I'm not really sure what he's any good at.
