It seems like a pretty heavy handed solution to what is ultimately a fairly minor issue, but that doesn't necessarily surprise me.

Getting to the point where the officials are the stars of the show, the players should form a guard of honour for them to walk out to their own anthem every game, before every player is presented to them to shake the refs hand. Utter codswallop.

Hate SKY, TNT etc & the clubs for allowing this mess to happen & its just getting worse.
