Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

And the first prepared Gravlax . This will be used on rye bread then as eggs romano then in a salmon casserole on Sunday . I had to trust the wife to take the photo as my hands were lurking full of fish oil .It is salted sugared and dill . I now have boiled the trimmings and will pick what meat is left to use in a soup. We have calculated that will get more than 30 plates of food from this fish ,so less than 1€ per plate for the main ingredient.View attachment 184796
Wowzers!! That looks amazing!

What time do I need to be there?? lol

Brilliant. Salmon isn't one of my faves, mind you my culinary knowledge of our ocean brethren, beyond cod, haddock and tuna is limited lol

Always wanted to try red Snapper and monkfish and scallops. I should buy some and give it a try, just don't trust myself with raw fish.
I genuinely read this as Salomon ….. and was about to agree that I don’t like him much either ??

Afternoon all , long time no speak so hope you’re all well. Just had a couple of pints with @Barnfred 55 , which was a very enjoyable experience culminating in a disagreement over who’d pay . Fortunately the licensee settled the ‘minor dispute’ by basically covering it , leaving us to sort the tip .

I’ve had to fly off to a prior engagement but hopefully we’ll catch up again . Pleasure that mate , great company.

Likewise mate. Deffo do it again.

By the way. This was the scouse version of "couple".

I have just read that out to my wife and it hit me why do we say fish and seafood ? Isn't fish sea food ? Off to google -as a guess it will be the pope or the Americans who have named it that way .
My take on it is that seafood is things with shells. Used to differentiate it from fish that have fins and swim! Could be completely wrong though.
