If its not on our terms then we shouldn't even consider selling. We need to start standing up for ourselves and getting this situation under control.

We should have had a forward 8 weeks ago as well. This isn't even about Gordon.
It absolutely is, because if we don't get the kind of funds in that his sale would generate, we can't afford the kind of forward that you have been hankering after.

And btw we do appear to be standing up for ourselves, by not taking the first, second or third offer that Chelsea have made and holding out for the deal that works for us. You seem to want it every way Tim.

Starting to think we're moving players like Dele, Gbamin, Allan out to free up wages.
Once they're out, we'll bring in the targets that we have waiting in the queue.
Those transfers are waiting for us to agree a deal with Chelsea for Gordon to leave to provide the money for the initial payments.
Kuddus, Gana, Pedro?

It’s fair to say that we’ve budgeted for Dele as if he played every game, so shifting him and paying half his wages is worth £20m + 50k a week saved for this next year’s accounts.

It’s hard to see Gordon staying now, so that’s £70m in/better off between him and Dele. A huge financial reset.

If there’s any truth in the paper talk that we want £50m guaranteed + one of Broja/Gallagher on loan for Gordon, it would be the sale of the summer.

I can genuinely see our business looking like this now, with us making clear profit on the remaining transfers..

In:
  • Gueye £5m
  • Garner £14m
  • Kudus / Gallagher (loan)
  • Gakpo (PSV out of champions league, Utd interest cooled) £35m
  • Broja (loan) / Joao Pedro £20m
Out:
  • Gordon £50m
  • Allan £5m
  • Gomes (loan)
  • Dele (loan saving us £20m+)
  • Gbamin (loan)
  • Rondon (cannoned to the moon)

Despite making profit and saving on wages with that business, our team would be competitive and full of potential.
You're gonna need a bigger cannon

With all of the random insider Twitter accounts and their “sources” that everyone keeps posting makes me wonder if the majority on this forum are either super gullible or 55+ years of age.
Its shocking how people believe all the clickbait, it’s a shame the media has come to this.
The only positive thing about transfer windows (I prefer the old system to having a window) is that stops you having 9 months of this nonsense.

Seen some on Twitter saying we're ramping up negotiations with Guirassy from France.

I imagine Gana, Kuddus, and a forward yet to be determined by other circumstances.
Not convinced the Guirassy stuff is real he has been linked for weeks and it hasn't happened. Unless they want two forwards which is what we need

Wonder if Chelsea try and get Gordon in this week, surely you guys are gonna want time for a replacement.

Is Gordon the type of player to drop tools and sulk if he isn't given the move? Bit like Fofana?

That's more like it..more talks with useless targets. Depressing
He's a really good player, particularly for the kind of price we are looking at. Bearing in mind we already need 2 forwards and if Gordon goes, at least 3, you will struggle to get a better player than this lad for the €8-15m quoted.

Everton in the transfer market….
