So Delis gone some insight

Tottenham made an even bigger mistake by agreeing to let him leave on a free transfer.

Spurs will be due some cash if Alli hits a certain number of appearances for Everton but based on how badly he’s played and this move to Besiktas being on the horizon, we doubt the London club will see a penny.

Alli’s wages won’t have been cheap though so Everton probably have wasted a lot of money in that area but this is the latest episode in what has been a desperately sad decline for Alli.

I think it's fair to say that he has never kicked on from when he broke into the team. However I don't get all the hate towards him and have defended him to the hilt on here in the past. Don't do it so much lately as I'm no longer able to deal with the aggro that inevitably comes with it (as per Yerry). He's a far better player than most on here make out, and although he hasn't kicked on he can still do a job as a squad player as i think he showed at the weekend. You need players like Tom in the squad and successive managers have all seemed to like him. I think he takes their instructions on board, has a great attitude and does a job for the team. Think we missed having him available on the bench for most of last season when we were in freefall.

He's still only young, 24 I think, and can still improve, but I don't think we can look upon him as a development player anymore. You could argue that his position in the squad takes up a place that could otherwise go to a promising midfielder coming through the youth system, like Warrington or Onyango, You could also argue that his own career may be better off elsewhere so he can get more game time. For his age he has a lot of premier experience that a number of bottom end premier clubs would benefit from. Players like him who are prepared to spend time on the bench are hard to replace though, and whilst I believe we'd let him go if the right offer came in, I don't think we'd accept less than say £15m. But equally I'd be happy if he stayed.

I do despise all the criticism he get's on here for his off the field activities though. He just seems a nice lad to me, you'd think he went around beating old women up. I never go anywhere near his thread these days (and quite a few others for that matter) as I know I'd just get myself worked up.
Yep totally aligned mate… I have done nothing except defend and support Tom on these pages. I just can’t help but like him. In fact most the time Gomes was starting I was crying for the energy that Tom brings.. always felt the team had more life when he was on the pitch.

He used to make the odd mistake but I loved that at least he was trying. im not sure what everyone wanted from him at times. He isn’t that flashy player but at least was forward thinking and looking to play progressively when the team was not.

Lot of time for the lad.. would keep as part of the squad for sure and give reasonable play time. Would like to see what he can do with Onana and decent movement around him. Let’s see what Lampard can get out of him.

I have to like your comment as it is based on fact but I think he is too slow , although the money side of it is no concern of mine he is taking a substantial wage which could be used elsewhere . I too like him as a lad , the way he dresses is fine with me .

As long as she doesn't eat it.
Catching up and was about to post exactly that , good job I read ahead and saved me a je suis Fred.
Is Mr Sassy’s English connection in the fairly recent past? Family history is one of my hobbies, happy to do look ups on FH website, if he’s interested in finding out more.

Levy is a very smart operator . There's no way he just let Everton have Alli on effectively a free so they can sell and retain the fee prior to playing 20 games. Henry Winter , football journalist , was saying that as soon as Everton sell Alli it triggers an obligation to pay Spurs. In any event this is a loan ( almost certainly with us paying a chunk of his wages ) with only an option not obligation to buy
Morning all irs a wet and soggy me touring North Island in A little camper
Just got got Wi-Fi so popping in to say hi and how is everyone
All good ?
Great to hear from you - hope the trip is going well , but isn't it their winter now ?

Morning campers - always wanted to do a @Sassy Colombian style multi quote thingy ! lol

Cooled right down here and able to do some gardening yesterday.

Rain coming today - lots of it hopefully , so another day refreshing the transfer update page , watching SSN and trying to avoid the cricket score.

Watched Shetland last night - really like that show but very confusing because I just happen to be reading a different book in the Shetland series at the moment and have now got both plot lines totally mixed up in my head.

Had a couple of sofas and some rugs cleaned yesterday do Mrs J went full cracking the whip mode ( don't get too excited @Sassy Colombian , I was speaking metaphorically ) and told me to give the sofas a hoover befor the guy arrived - I know , cleaning the sofas before they were cleaned - sounds weird to me too - anyway I found a combined total of 2 pens , about a bag of peanuts , a comb and 60p . Happy days.

I've had a couple of health issues lately but saw the specialist last evening and had a full check up. Need some meds but everything else tickety boo.

Have a lovely day everyone.
