Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Finally a few days where it's a bit cooler.
Couldn't appreciate them as much Mon/Tues as I was in work all day and it's always unbearable hot there (I work in an industrial bakery)

The machinery I normally operate was off for a few days for deep cleaning and general servicing, so it's a bit of a lottery of what ungodly task you'll end up on.
I normally work on the production side of things, but also I'm qualified to operate one of the big waste disposal units there, which meant I drew the short straw to lead a merry band of agency workers down to the storage area. They'd be dumping out of date or damaged product into large bins and I'd be using the disposer to weigh, catalogue, dump and crush the waste product. You can't just bin something in this industry, it all needs to be weighed, accounted for and be tracible back to source as it all goes towards managing loss for the company and the crushed end product is sold on to the farming industry as feed filler.

Someone had left a large metal bin of activated yeast mixture in the storage area and it had been there over the weekend with all that heat... the smell was... oh god the smell... ?
Without doubt the most horrendous smell I've ever come across.
Even after it was all removed and cleaned out, the smell stuck around. So not the most fun day I've ever had.
Pay rise please! lol

You should have made the people who left the yeast out sort it out mate. I bet they wouldn't do it again.

Good morning all. I'm doing nothing today. Seriously, zip, zilch, F all. And I shall love every second of it. I'm going to watch the Test match, maybe have a little flutter on the Ebor meeting at York that starts today.
Daughter is off to Nottingham on Friday to visit son and his girlfriend. Im really happy that the sibling bond is strong enough that they want to spend time together. Ive always been close to my two brothers. Her boyfriend couldn't make it - his ex is being difficult about the school holiday arrangements and it was the only week she would allow him to have their 6 year old. He's picking him up on Saturday from Leeds. She was his ex way before Charlotte got involved with him so she isn't being difficult because of her.

A little update on my quest to lose weight for my hols. I've actually lost almost two stone. So now a not quite so fat git. I've got about 7 more weeks before we go. Another 7lbs or so?

Have a lovely day all x
Congrats on the weight loss - losing the next 7lbs should be a piece of cake lol

I spoke to my manager about it and insisted in the strongest terms that he come down to 'take a look himself'

After much coughing, spluttering, blasphemous utterings and turning a pale shade of green, he agreed with me and had the hygiene team come down and sort it out. :hayee:

The place still stunk to high heaven afterwards though ?
