So after mindlessly spaffing money left, right and centre for years they have finally drawn a line at a couple of million to compensate a player they themselves told to leave? Doesn’t really add up.
As someone who works for the government, I see it in other departments all the time. Wasting millions on absolute crap and then arguing over small amounts for important things. It’s illogical but it happens.

No I genuinely just think they’re being tight and quibbling over what is effectively a pittance to them. Could be dead wrong like.
If Gueye is on 100k per week, they're quibbling over a couple million quid on a reported 8 million deal (plus the wage dump). Most likely, they're just trying to get us to up our offer to cover that cost. If we lose a position in the league because they hold out on closing for three weeks, we're more or less indifferent when it comes to paying up.

The problem with that logic is that we don't want to signal weakness to other clubs, because we still have other (perhaps bigger) business to conclude. If it were the last deal of the window, my guess is that we would probably muck our cards.

We know what the status is.

If PSG and Gana sort out the cash he comes.

If PSG don't want to help pay him off, he doesn't come, or maybe comes on loan.

According to the post in the transfer page by Bob Latchford, Gueye has yet to reach an agreement with us.

Fabrice Hawkins posted that this morning and yet Fraser Fletcher posted this one (below) a few hours earlier and Myers has basically just got no info on it at all which isn't a surprise.

Probably best just ignore everything unless it comes from Romano, Joyce or The Bobble i think as some of these seem to be just making things up because things have gone quiet.
