Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello all. Arrived in Liverpool about an hour ago so have been chatting to Dad, He's doing OK. He's made chili today for our tea tomorrow ( I thought the cooking was my job! lol ) All I have to do is buy a French stick. I'm going to buy piccalilli as well because, if you remember from about 1000 pages back, that is my favourite thing with chili.
The drive across was alright, not too busy. The only problem is that travelling from east to west means you are always driving into the sun, and of course my water squirters ran out so all the dust was reflecting the sunlight.

Mr F and I have decided to go to the evening race meeting at Redcar on Bank Holiday Saturday. This means we can have a day at the beach before the meeting. Fish and chips, ice cream and a paddle in the North Sea - which is always freezing. I'm looking forward to it already.

I might look at Red Cafe @jazzy for a laugh. I sometimes think that a big problem with Man Utd is the still powerful presence of SAF at the club. It can't be easy with him watching your every move. I know our former managers would come to the games but they didn't seem to have any input into how the team was run. I don't think that's the case at Man U.
Enjoy your stay Anj nice to hear your Dad is doing well, mine would baulk at the thought of chilli.
Fish and chips and a paddle in the North Sea, brilliant.

He's got quite wide ranging taste in food. I've a feeling it comes from spending 40+ years as a seafarer - with a lot of time on foreign flagged ships with sailors of all nationalities. The food choices were wide and varied!

Mrs J's dad was in the Merchant Navy for many years and similarly had a wide taste of cuisine , he always said this was because he was widely travelled.

Just back from a lovely day. Why are kids so obsessed with those grab machines? Luckily they both won a cuddly toy which would have been cheaper to buy from a shop and is probably the last thing they need at their age. lol Anyhow here’s a couple of pics.View attachment 176603View attachment 176604 here’s a couple of pics.View attachment 176600View attachment 176601View attachment 176602
