Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Really short of rainfall here too, a bit overnight on Saturday/Sunday and although it rained again yesterday morning it was nowhere near the amount forecast. Anglian Water keep sending emails about saving water - one of their tips - get an extra water butt. Can have as many water butts as we like and we have three but if there’s no rain….
Have you seen the advert from the RNLI on how to save yourself ?

Hey guys and gals.. just checking in… hope you all good and celebrated the big win for the ladies!

Played squash for the first time in 20 years yesterday .. Happy to say my standards hadn’t dropped at all.. yep out of breath before the warm up was done and taking sit downs between points.. yep about right.
As though the intervening years had never happened lol

Alright everyone ,

Woken by mad thunderstorms in the night and stll lashing down now. Good news on 2 fronts then - extremely good for the garden and no pooling of water on the drive ( @blue1948 ) so Mrs J must have read your post re camber and done the raking properly.

Mrs J in the Rescue Shop all day and I've agreed to go there late pm to reorganise the books , cds and LPs before I schnuckle off to TT practice.

Hopefully Gana signs today and I fear that apart from a couple of loan signings that's our lot for this window.

@Terrarian good luck with that phone call.

Morning all, the rain has passed us by again, although I’m glad we didn’t get mad thunderstorms. My late Mum was terrified of them and could detect the sound of thunder from miles away, even if the rest of us couldn’t hear it. My Nan would open all the doors and cover all the mirrors in case lightning came down the chimney, thus ensuring her family including the boys had a lifelong aversion to storms. Well done to Mrs J. on the raking of the drive @jazzy. Good luck with reorganising the C.D’s etc. Whenever I am choosing cards or books in a shop I can’t resist sorting them if they are out of order - goes back to my days as a Christmas temp. in W.H.Smith. lol Hope the phone call goes well @Terrarian. Off to get ready for our train trip to Lincoln with granddaughters. I’m assured by Hannah she will have no difficulty walking up Steep Hill! Have a lovely day all.?

Morning guys, hope you're all good.

Well I phoned up and the Dr hasn't done anything yet according to the secretary, he hasn't verified whatever he was supposed to verify, there is a letter ready to go to the GP to increase anti-depressants to 200mg, currently 150mg a day, and I am supposed to be going for an ECG and blood tests apparently which again hasn't been started or sent.

The secretary apologised and is now chasing it all up for me and is going to call me back.

I swear down, this crap happens to me all the time and I end up just being left alone and out of the system . I am not happy, glad I have the mental capacity to follow this up if my depression was bad, I wouldn't have done no doubt.

Oh well, we wait again. Still heard nothing about the rheumatologist or physio yet either.

It's hard to be too mad at the NHS as our services are stretched to the limit in this country, you can't get a Dr's appointment same day or two like it used to be. I actually changed Dr surgery the other year because it got to the point where an appointment was 6-8 weeks wait and the new surgery barely had a wait time, that has now got to about 4 weeks wait. It's not good.

That's rubbish. Keep at them. I currently think GPs are stealing a very lucrative living off the back of COVID. Hope you get sorted. Was the GP supposed to refer you to the rheumatologist and/ or physio. If they were I would be checking if that has been done too.

Yes the GP was supposed to refer me but it was the psychiatrist who forgot(IMO) to do the rest after my appointment at the beginning of july. I totally agree about GPs though, it's so difficult to get a face to face appointment these days.
