Morning all, just had a nice walk round the fields for 90mins and Daisy had a run off her lead and managed not to roll in poo for a change so all good. Seen a few rabbits today, good thing about Daisy is even off the lead she wouldn't do anything, except try and play with them obviously lol

Stopped at the co-op on the way home for milk, £1.80 for 4pinter it's £1.45 in Aldi and Tesco, mind blown at that, It was already £1.50 before the price hike

@jazzy I haven't watched all of all of the games but I did watch the whole thing last night. The final wasn't as good as some of the other stuff I have seen. Maybe nerves? And, controversial opinion, I don't think I would pay regularly to watch it. However the boost to the women's game will be enormous but I still prefer the men's game. That's not putting down women in sport or not supporting the sisterhood. There are plenty of women I truly admire who are making their way in traditionally male dominated sport. Hollie Doyle being my current favourite. I think Nicola Adams is amazing, in spite of not liking boxing of any gender.
I did like the crowd last night. No toxicity just people having fun. Which is how it should be.

I look at it from the perspective of what women's togger used to like and it is much much better these days. Remember when Doncaster Bells used to win everything, are they even around now with all the pro clubs having teams, that was like watching a bunch of drunk sunday leaguers lol and I mean still drunk not hungover lol

Some other things where the women are catching up is MMA, used to be awful but the girls bring it these days, can often be more exciting than the blokes. Watched Nunes v Pena 2 at 4am the other morning, was a fantastic fight. Nunes is a special fighter, calls herself The Lioness as it happens, so a good day for the Lionesses yesterday.

As Anj says, boxing is getting better but not a patch on the MMA ladies I must say. That's all I watch women's sport wise, mind you except Everton, MMA and Boxing I don't really bother with many other sports. I did once follow the men's hockey at the Olympics in the 80's when we won gold, never watched hockey before or since but i loved that Olympics.

Great , great point about the crowd. No booing of national anthems, bit of pantomine booing of the ref but that's about it. Just people out to enjoy the game which is exactly how it should be.

I thought the final was interesting. After all the publicity I watched the whole game , the first time i've watched 90 / 120 minutes of a womans game.

I have to be very honest and say that I was dissappointed in the quality of play. I had expected much better. I thought both keepers were good , despite what I'd heard about female keepers.
I thought Germany were technically better but should have had Rauch sent off in the first half.

Overall it was the lack of technical ability that surprised me. I watch a lot of womens golf and table tennis. At the top level , of course they lack power and physicality but their technique is absolutely superb - as good , if not better , than top men.

However last night , apart from the pass and finish for the 1st goal which was excellent I saw players struggling to control and pass the ball. Perhaps it was the occasion I don't know.

Of course , I am made up that we won and I thought that when we went 2-1 up we played with professionalism and snide to run the clock down. Thought Williamson and Walsh were very good . Would be very interested to see what everyone else , especially @anjelikaferrett and @Gwladysover thought.

You should have watched more of Spain Jazz. Technically they are on a different level.

Having said that I think you're being a bit hard on the sport. The women's game has developed a lot in the past 10 years in this country with the introduction of the professional league, but it's still in it's early stages really, especially compared to the likes of Germany, USA , Spain and even the Scandinavian countries. The likelihood is following this that the sport will open up to many more young girls, and school participation is key to this. I think then you'll see better technique coming through as girls will be playing from a younger age.

Walsh is probably our most gifted player technically. For me either she or the young German midfielder were the players of the tournament, but they always give it to the headline makers don't they.

I also love watching athletics and swimming T. Enjoy watching the women just as much as the men. They may not be as powerful or as fast but they bring a certain elegance to procedures which is beautiful in itself. Watching the women's sprints is almost like watching a fashion show.

I agree Fred. I love watching athleticis men or woman. I've never seen a more graceful runner than the recently retired Alyson Felix. Poerty in motion. And she was very very good. So both style and substance.

Lads don't even have football teams at schools round here these days, never mind girls, my 9 year old nephew is desperate for a team, he's good at sport, he was one of 4 chosen to do some sport the other week, slipped my mind what he did but he is following in my footsteps, I was the only sporty one in my family, except my cousin.

I used to know Georgia Stanway's dad Paul a long time ago, he used to run soccer schools over in USA every summer, he was a qualified coach, so he obviously worked a lot with Georgia.
