Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Nothing like a few rays of sunshine and a couple of bangers to lift the spirits.

We went to Mauritius. Beautiful place. It was their winter so occasional clouds but otherwise can’t complain!
Friends of mine have just been there too. Hope they've been OK I was out with them when I was up in Liverpool a few weeks ago and I got the worst cold ever. I can't see how they never caught it as we spent half the night hugging,

Happy Friday Friends. Another busy, busy week and it hasn't stopped as I'm about to head to Sofia's singing camp, she is doing an end of the week performance so looking forward to seeing what this group of campers put together. All this to say that I've yet to catch up to this thread but will do so hopefully later. I also wanted to let @Gwladysover that unfortunately we didn't win the lottery on Tuesday for your birthday. But still have another shot at it tonight :D It is going to be one of the biggest lottery prizes ever awarded so why not to think it can be us. And just like @Barnfred 55 knows, if I were to win that much of money all of our lives would be changed, not just mine so let's hope we win it. I think I have everyone's lucky numbers and will be playing those. But if any of you feel lucky and want me to send me some numbers here is how it is play: Pick five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. I should still be able to buy tickets online for another 5 hours so I will check again once I'm done with Sofi.

I just realized Everton is playing today, hopefully we do well. We need to gain some good momentum before the starting of the season. Maybe if we win the lottery we could all be there for the opening, wouldn't that be fantastic. So send me your numbers lovely people. Xxx

I've just speed read the 75 page judgment - nothing about costs that I could see.

However it looks like I was right about the pleaded Defence ...... here's an extract from the judgment .....

On 8-9 February 2022, I heard the defendant’s applications to join Ms Watt as a part 20 defendant, to file a Re-Re-Amended Defence and for disclosure orders; and the claimant’s applications for further information and disclosure orders. I gave judgment on 14 February 2022, dismissing the application to join Ms Watt, granting limited permission to amend, and making specific and supplemental disclosure orders against the claimant: Vardy v Rooney (3) [2022] EWHC 304 (QB).

So in plain and simple terms ,

1 Rooney's lawyers realised that the original defence was either poorly drafted or information came to light after the exchange of statements I guess that led them to the view that Vardy's agent Watt could be responsible.
2. The application to join Watt as a party was thrown out because it was too late and too close to the trial. She was however given permission to amend her defence ( for a 2nd time !)
3. Rooney won the case in any case because the Judge found that Vardy was less than truthful ( she puts int much nicer than that ) and that the original Defence that Vardy spilt the beans was true because she had actually told her agent to do so ( rather than the agent going off on a frolick of her own )
4. Rooney won't get the whole costs because a) they are disproportionate to the issues and b) she lost interlocutory hearings ( like the one in Feb 2022 - above for which Rooney will have to pay.

Hope this helps lol
Good summary jazzy.

Would love to know the point at which the defence attempted to amend the individual to ‘agent’ in their case. Was it a review or did they learn something new..

I suspect Vardy had plenty of people willing to offer dissenting views.

Not bad for a 40yr old from Speke
Great to see McNeill have a good start. I know it's only a friendly but hopefully it will get some of the many doubters more on board.
Early days but he was very impressive hopefully the lad can keep it up

We just grabbed another guy from Burnley apparently, and he’s a goodun by all accounts

Everton agree five-year deal with Maxwel Cornet, £67,000 per-week wages

Everton have agreed a five-year deal with Maxwel Cornet worth £67,000 per-week according to But! Football Club journalist Ignazio Genuardi.

The Toffees have been linked with a move for the Ivory Coast international, who plays all the way up the left flank and also as a striker too.
