Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

To cut a very long story short, I am currently down for the weekend giving my brother a break from looking after my parents who are 83 and 87. He gave up working full time to look after them he now splits his time between work and caring for them and my dad makes up his wages out of his own pocket.
Due to my parents increasingly fading health my brother who is 59 is now looking to become their full time carer as that is what they now require.
As we've always been fortunate not to have to claim benefits within the family, would any of you good people know where my brother could find out how to become a full time carer and anywhere he could get support or assistance.
It's something that's crept up on us like a lot of people our age and we're just looking for the best way to go about it, any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Carers allowance is all done on line mate. And once assessed, is back dated to the date he first started. As for your parents, whilst no expert, they may, or one of them might be, qualify for a PIP. (Personal Independence Payment). The PIP assessment is usually a telephone discussion, and again, payments are backdated to the date of the claim.

The HMG/DWP sites are pretty easy to navigate and give some decent pointers. (I have no idea if being over state pension age has an impact mind)

Like I said, no expert in the benefits world, but had the same thing when Nikki came home to be cared for.

This might help. The carers allowance is not very much but it opens the doors to allow claiming for other benefits like Council Tax reduction, pension credits etc.

Thank you so much.

Didn't see the game but a 4-2 win away to Blackpool wasn't a bad result. Blackpool are a decent Championship side who will be looking to improve on their mid table finish last season, and are ahead of us in fitness given their season starts next weekend. Also. the Chelsea result gives our Arsenal performance a bit more perspective.

Followed the game by dipping into the GOT match thread periodically, which should carry a Government health warning.

Don't think we'll be pulling up many trees this season, but hopefully we'll add a couple more players towards the end of the window and safely navigate the season. I think we may find that the world cup may be a bit of boost for us later in the season when I can see a lot of clubs suffering a bit of burn out. Off the top of my head I think we've only got Pickford who'll be competing so our players will have a good 6 week rest.

I have been thinking that the WC break could be good news for us as well. And while I cant recall all the countries at the WC, I too struggle to think of anyone going other than Pickford.

edit. If DCL has a stonking start to the season, maybe. But thats it looking at the groups.

I can't see it but would delighted if DCL makes the WC squad.

It will mean he's scored a few goals for us ........unless he signs for Newcastle!

Had olive oil mate. Onion didnt really work too well, but a halved tomato deffo adds sommet. Just forgot to buy one.

And it was superb. So easy and cheap to do.
I'm sure it was. I just really like roasted red onion. May do that myself but fancy dusting the chicken in smoked paprika first. We're the chicken thighs on the bone and how long did you cook it for, about 45 minutes?
