Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. It's lovely here at the moment. A nice breeze and not too hot. I love Repair Shop too @Gwladysover. It has been a disappointing weekend as regards cricket and golf. I don't think Rory did much wrong yesterday, the guy who won just played an amazing round. (observation of someone who knows bog all about golf!) My £1 ew on Tommy Fleetwood won me £6.61 so I've invested that on Pyledriver in the King George on Saturday. Again, always follow horses ridden by another Scouse Evertonian, Martin Dwyer. Unfortunately he's injured at the moment but I still like the horse.

Looking forward to the cricket tomorrow. Hope they do better against South Africa than India. I'll try and take some pics. Durham is a lovely ground.

Anyway, really need to do some work. I have CCTV to watch of a carer being mean to an old man. Just what you want on a Monday morning!

Have a fab day everyone x
Have a brilliant time at the cricket tomorrow bit it's going to be a hot one so take care.
Re the Open. Rory tried to defend the lead and played cautiously whilst Smith went for flags and played attacking golf.

Mainly to the girls ,has anyone read the seven sisters series of books ? I have just ordered the final two for her indoors . It has brightened up here and is a pleasant 15° that is plus by the way .
I haven’t read them but I’ve just looked up the reviews ( prefer to to think we are mature and well-,informed @anjelikaferrett ?) and they certainly look well worth a read.

So he goes the start of my effort not to leave my flat until Thursday. Pray for me.

Not too bad here. Doesn't feel anything near 30C and a nice breeze out. Doors and windows opened and quite pleasant really. Had lunch outside and now going to sit out for an hour and then make myself a nice strong mojito. Having myself a barbie tonight and will put the chicken thighs in the oven later before finishing off on the barbie. Had planned to go to the beach but its a 4 mile round walk, mainly uphill on the way back. A swim in the sea would have been nice but I need to be sensible as it's still warmer than I'm used to. Not much time left before the madness starts though

Sounds nice mate, enjoy all that. What I'd give for a nice shady garden right now. And a mojito too obviously ;)

37 here, bit of a breeze picking up but it’s just pushing the hot air round, not that refreshing but there’s a bit of cloud buildup so hopefully may drop a couple of degrees if the sun goes in. Back of the house and garden like an oven, roll on Wednesday ?
Just checked our local weather. 28C which feels about right. Thunderstorms tomorrow morning for us. I'll let you know how bad it is as they will be moving across the rest of the UK. Looks like tomorrow afternoon will be a bit muggy, cloudy and mid 20s.

Still it's warm out there at the moment, but at least I have a nice breeze and some of you are getting 10C hotter so I feel for you. Take it easy guys. Most of us are not getting any younger.

I may have missed it, but any news on your landlord/mate situation?

Down your way next September (2023) for my Nephews wedding, depending on the world, might be able to share a pint.
That would be good mate. Hopefully I'll still be down here. That's the way my thoughts are developing anyway.

Yeah things have moved on a bit but I'm not sure myself whether I've mentioned it in here. The daughter had a chat whilst giving me a lift to Newquay Airport the other week. Said that she'd spoke to her dad but thought the increase he mentioned was too much in ond go. So she halved it (12.5%) to take effect October and said she'd review again in 12 months. Can't argue with that really seeing as he could easily double what I'm paying if he went back to the market.

Disaster has struck, I deleted my world save on minecraft by accident, it was the first one I had decided to stick with and deleted it by accident ffs lol lol

Have to say though the new seed is looking promising, I can see a mineshaft down a rather steep crevice, so will have to try and make my way down somehow and I can see a castle in the distance. @BornBlue76 (best tag you nobody else will have a scooby lol)

It's very humid here, only out for about 10 mins before with daisy way too hot.
