Fair point.

I suppose it's what premium you put on someone knowing the league really isnt it mate?

That Edersons numbers looked very good though.

Football is football though, right? (Unless it's soccer.) Anyone will take ~ 6 months to adjust to a new setting, even experience PL guys will need to adjust to a new squad. I just don't really buy the "knows the league" trope, it's mindless gibberish easily perpetuated by the goofs in TV studios, and there are plenty of examples of players who didn't "know the league" and got on just fine. That Mykolenko kid, for instance, appears to be way better than Dunc said on the train...

So, no prime Messi for you? Or Silva, or a Zola, Iniesta? Aguero? Tevez? Suppose mo Modric either?

Absolute top class technical players with other top class technical players in the same team is great.

But if you stick someone like Bernard in our side then even though he’s good technically (not top level but good) he just gets overwhelmed as he can’t get time and space on the ball.

To a point yes.

We have seen a lot of players brought in, and flopped though. The PL is a very powerful, intense league, with hard games most weeks.

I think the key is, are you paying the right price for that premium.

What I also meant to add is you can't always tell what you've got until you've got it... there's so much misinformation with transfers, but in the end a guy shows up to the training ground and everyone else can tell immediately if it's going to work. There's always an element of risk in most transfers, unfortunately.

I put a link to 3 vids in the Lewis-Potter thread

He may be 5'7 but 38% of his goals are headers...he seems taller and quite a Cahill leap on him
