Sorry lads, but I do have to laugh about all these, 'He gets the club' comments.

My opinion is that he's out for himself, if he'd relegated Everton his managerial career would've been toast.

Not holding my breath regarding how far he's going to take us in the future.
Yeah ambitious people managing our club.
No thanks.
Unless they they committed to an Everton tattoo on their youngest child I’m not buying that they get the club either

We are 10th in the last ten games form table.
The Brentford game was a certain win if decisions hadn’t gone against us - that would push us to 5th.
Lampard has done well from a poor start. United the club.
He deserves a season unless we are in relegation scrap at Christmas.
Our main signing needs to be a world class fitness and conditioning specialist.
The team is capable if Fit.

Well he certainly made it difficult for himself with that line up and players selected, but he threw caution to the wind, out a proper footballer and earned that bit of luck we needed to get the win.

Absolutely made up for him because i wouldn't aant a young manager like Lampard taking down a club like Everton, that's the kind of crap no manager would recover from.

Now Frank, stick EVERY SINGLE PLAYER up for sale today please, rup it up and start again. We'll, maybe apart from Iwobi and I never thought I'd be saying that.

lol...in ironic/piss-take manner I always voted, over the last 18 months or so, Crab Iwobi as my MotM....as events have come to pass, isn't that in itself ironic?

I think everyone IS up for sale. Obviously, Pickford, Richarlison and DCL would only go for the right price - and these are the three we wouldn't want to sell unless we got a really good one - but everyone else absolutely is up for sale if Lampard is to have any future.

I see a lot of sentimental talk that Holgate, Iwobi, Alli, etc. should all be kept on. Sorry, lads. If you want to rebuild, you have to be ruthless. If you are going to trigger Alli's contract clauses on the basis of one crucial performance, you're going to have to find the money from somewhere. That will mean losing players that you might give yet another chance to if you were feeling forgiving.

Lampard must stamp his authority on the club now. This will be HIS squad come August as he will have to own it after a summer of potential renewal. He has earned the right to rebuild us. It'd be disastrous if he bottled the necessary purge now.

Didn't get the first XI correct

BUT

He then made good subs

In my opinion, making good subs is definitely grounds for a thumbs up for a manager, just as how making bad subs when you initially got the starting XI correct is grounds for a thumbs down

Ideally you get the line up AND the subs right, but if you're going to get one of those right it may as well be the subs, especially when you win

I've said since Christmas there isn't a player in this team I would be sad to see leave for the right price. Let's be brutally honest, they bottled it last season when Europe was a game away and they've just crawled over the line to safety this season. Given our financial situation we're going to have to sell 1, if not 2 of our big hitters and if Lampard and Thelwell are given freedom to do their Job - and the owners isn't stepping in making the same mistakes like wasting wages on dross like El Ghazi then maybe.... just maybe this is a turning point. Maybe we had to hit the lows before we can hit the highs.
What I would say though, out of all the players I think Iwobi has turned his Everton career around and if there's one of them that deserves the chance to be part of Lampard's blues it's him.

I don't rate Iwobi at all - never have - but fairness demands that I recognise his commitment to the cause these last few months. I think it would be a great signal to the squad and fans if Lampard singles out one single player who really stepped up when our backs were to the wall and saves him - while ruthlessly purging the rest. If Iwobi is that man, fair enough. But that means no room for sentimental forgiveness for the failures. Other players also stepped up - but are simply not of the standard for this level. I'm thinking of Holgate here. We need to be ruthless. Being "nice" means we start next season with Iwobi, Holgate, Keane, Doucoure, Delph, Gomes, Kenny, Delle, Coleman, Townsend, Gray, etc., etc. We simply cannot.
