Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Afternoon all,

How's everyone's heart after last night? Talk about stressful. The players are clearly trying, but it's all a bit too frantic. Nerves are getting the better of them, causing them to snatch at chances and over-hit crosses. Richy's desperation to score caused him to miss two massive chances, but credit to him for keeping on trying (as he always does) and getting his goal in the end. Love the lad.

Gray needs to be dropped, with Richy out wide and Rondon starting. Never thought I'd be hoping Rondon starts FFS. Thanks Everton.

Somebody hold me.

Now let me traumatize you for the rest of the week ?

It must be because just like my whip, I love my handcuffs too lol

Somebody need to tell you that I also have handcuffs, do you carry those over there :p

If I had not pursue a career in education, after anthropologist and marine biologist, I think my next career option would have been dominatrix ?? lol

@Tommy. I've just found this clip of a baby whale shark playing with some divers- chasing and eating the bubbles they are making. So cute.

Spectacular aren't they, Anj?

It's the personality/intelligence that a lot of people don't see with sea-dwelling animals until you experience/look for it.

Personally a huge fan of Moray Eels, seen dozens of them whilst diving and every effing time 'Bad Joke Eeel' pops into my mind.

How many slices of bread do you serve with that Fred, what with all the excess gravy and that?

?
None AT. Don't generally have 2 carbs with the 1 meal. I'm good like that. So I have either bread, rice or potato or pasta. The one exception to that is garlic bread with pasta.

But to answer your question, I use the French fries to mop up the gravy. The gravy is full of onions, tomatoes and mushrooms. All healthy stuff?

Resided in Norfolk for 15 odd years, Anj, my mates who I grew up with have never left left Liverpool and have all been successful in their own right.

I've always threatened to move back but a family loss sealed it, I'm truly on cloud 9 right now.
That's so good. I still have thoughts of moving back to Liverpool when I retire. It will always be home. The next few years will probably decide whether it happens or not.

In between a flow of visitors I’ve managed to keep painting… more bluebells

Such a beautiful and peaceful sight

I learned to knit when I was in hospital as a kid and then learned to crochet when I was 21 living with an older woman -just renting a room and she had a brand new colour tv but wouldn't use it ! That was when tv's were luxuries .I crocheted coats for my kids when they were in their prams ,they used to joke that I could be a bouncer and do the crocheting behind the door .
That’s impressive, not only can you sew but also crochet, wow. Not too many young men have those skills now days. My daughter knows how to sew and she can do some crochet but still is learning the skill.

Morning all, bright and sunny again here today. Early start as doing the school run for grandchild no. 1 for a few days. Hope you‘ve all recovered from yesterday’s roller coaster ride - I’m like a piece of chewed string.lol
Between my workout and the game, I felt super exhausted last night.

There’s a twitter page Lego Lost at Sea which features Lego and other assorted plastic which is washed up on Cornish beaches, fascinating stuff.
I’m not surprised about plastic showing up Cornish beaches, as now days it is even showing up in our blood :(

I learned to knit in Infant School and my Nan taught me to crochet. Here’s my current project and one I made earlier.View attachment 163107View attachment 163108
My mom taught me how to knit but my grandma was the one who crochet and during the summer when we visited for a month, she would made me crochet for hours instead of letting me out playing with friends so I’m not to fond of it. I like knitting though.

The gardens at Bosloe are beautiful. Although it's NT it's for private hire so the gardens aren't open to the public and are a hidden gem. It will be fully out soon so I'll take some pics. Bosloe is where the stores are so Cal and I were down there most days. Fantastic place to go to work.
You had mentioned there was a bench they placed in Cal’s honor, where is that?

Duc asked for my recipe. A few posts later Sass had responded his post by providing link, saving me the hassle and time of doing so myself.
Trying to be as helpful as I can for my favorite Cornwall resident ?

I love a commission…hey steve could you paint me a flamenco dancer
Hell yeah here she is 24 hours in and another day or so before she is done …. I may call it the sassy flamenco dancer
I’ve also moved a studio easel out on my front garden …. Painting in the sun helps me paint happy … so thus one is dedicated to you lady mascoteers x

Wow, that’s a gorgeous painting. You are not only talented painting bluebells but also painting sassy flamenco dancers. The colors are so vivid and flow so beautifully together. What medium are you utilizing? Now I know who I’m going to ask for a portrait commission if I win the lottery ?

She's gorgeous
I have to agree with that assessment lol She is super sweet too, every now and then she snaps at Reese but it is because he has become such a grumpy cat.

It's not a pastime I go in for Sass but I'm sure you'll find all sorts on our beaches. Cornwall is very popular with artists, many of whom make a living from beachcombing and making works of art out if their findings.

On the Lizard peninsula, the other side of the river I posted yesterday, there is a rock called serpentine which is a beautifully coloured granite/ marble not found anywhere else, that can be found on some beaches.
Tbh it wasn’t one of my pastimes either until we went to Italy sat on the rocky beach and began finding all these beautiful glasses and stones, now whenever I visit a rocky beach I look around.

Maybe one day you visit Lizard peninsula you can take a pic of the serpentine and post it here for us to see.

She's just like Stevie, the kitten from next door. So if you ever visit Sass you'll be completely at home. On one side I have the black and white Tom like yours, and on the other I have the Fresca lookalike.
I was thinking the same. That you seem to have twins of my cats as your neighbors lol

Good morning all. I'm having a lie in. Home alone (apart from the cat) and off work. Might venture downstairs for a cuppa and bring it back to bed. I need to recover from last night's emotional shredding! I reckon Richarlison has been our best player by a country mile this season. He never stops, he gives it everything. He seems to have a "resting bitch face" which makes him look like he's got a massive cob on all the time but everything I read about him indicates that he is a really nice lad too. He could do with more goals but you can never fault his attitude.

I'm very jealous of all your creative efforts. I have zero talent in that area, can't knit, crochet, sew, paint, couldn't carry a tune in a bucket so I am always in awe of people who can do such things.

@Sassy Colombian if you ever come to UK, the beaches on the West coast of Scotland are fabulous and so are some of the ones not too far from me in Northumbria on the east coast. If you like collecting things you might like to read this and come and find St Cuthbert's beads on Holy Island ( also known as Lindisfarne) https://projects.digventures.com/li...ry/site-diary-the-story-of-st-cuthberts-bead/

I'll have to pack for our Newmarket weekend at some point today. Hopefully I might still be on the way home when our next match is on. If we can keep the deficit to three it will be a success. Just kidding - COYB, batter those red gobsh*tes!
Our dream is to drive around Europe for a few weeks so hopefully we will be able to also be able to check out Scotland. So many places to visit and not enough money or time. If I were filthy rich that’s exactly what I would be doing with my time, traveling the world.

I was never before but I think I now have become a sea glass collector. Thanks for sending that link, I’ll check it out.

Be still my fluttering heart ….. one month ago my ancient Spanish dishwasher vomited it’s contents over my kitchen floor …. I was away and lovely Gina my cleaning lady was none too impressed…. But the new one is inbound today
Yippee I hate doing dishes
In Colombia not too many people use dishwasher so while we have one at home, I always do ours by hand. But washing dishes can be a pain in the butt, specially when one is doing lots of cooking.
So, woke up this morning feeling absolutely crap. Thrombing headache , no energy and generally listless. Actually this had nothing to do with Rosie sleeping on my head and neck all night!

Yes I know what you're thinking ....its covid.

Well actually no. Yesterday I moved and spread about 3 tons of bark chipping as a mulch and weed suppressant in the Arboretum.

It's heavy work but stupidly I did it without a mask and the chippings host horrible spores which get on your chest and makes you feel generally yuk. Yes @blue1948 totally my own fault and a schoolboy error in failing to assess and mitigate the risk.

Still on the upside I've got a great excuse for sitting in the Orangery and this afternoon in the sun reading.

Have a lovely day peeps.
I hope by the time you read this post that you are feeling better and your chest has improved. But you are a hard working man even during retirement so relaxing in Orangery and sun reading sounds like a perfect afternoon and plan to recovery.

Ha ha. When I first read that I thought your ancient Spanish dishwasher was an actual person. Duh. lol
Haha I have to admit when first reading I was also confused ?

Yesterday afternoon was a roller coaster of emotions. Richy saved the night for sure and I also think that Iwobi did well last night and has been improving throughout the season. Rondon can’t last the full 90 but I think if he can make a difference as he did yesterday. He seems more engaged and passionate playing under Frank that he did under Benitez.

Finally got my mortage offer through to move back to Liverpool.

Took a while with sorting my old house out etc but I'm eff'ing thrilled to be moving back!

L16 people unite!
Congrats, mate. That’s exciting news, well except for the family loss. Sorry for it, I hope it wasn’t your mum.

Well, I hope you settle where your heart is, Anj. You're one of GoT's finest.

Here's some dolphins.

Dolphins are such amazing creatures, so smart and entertaining too. We got to go on a dolphin tour while in Costa Rica and the pod put an unexpected show for everyone on the boat.

Ha, confess AT. Did you have some bread on the table that you omitted from the pic? ;)

Hello friends, it took me a while to catch up to today’s Karl’s coffee house chat but I have prevailed :) Now it is time for me to check out the Ukrainian thread and then I have to call it early tonight as I have to be at the college first thing in the morning and I want to do my full workout tomorrow so need to be up by 5. The weekend is almost here and with it lots spring weather so I’m very much looking forward to it.

Some food for thought. We all know Sunday is going to be a tough match that we may have very little chance of winning, but do we give it our best by playing our main squad, or do we protect players like Mina that can injure easily and risk not having some of them for some future matches?

Have lovely Friday! Xxx
