BUT, why spend decent money on him? Just seems very very odd. From what I’ve read Patterson is good going forward. Could have offered something today off the bench. He needs to be involved or he won’t ever be ready?! It’s not like Coleman’s just had a poor game, he’s never been able to cross, he’s having a horrendous run of form and his legs have vanished. They went 3 years ago.
We’d all love to be 3 up and ease these players in but we are never going to be in that position under Benitez. I’m ignoring the fact that Benitez is the worst possible man to get the best out of attacking full backs which is what both Patterson and Mykolenko are.
