It was probably always likely. We've got Leicester to think about and Dom won't have it in him yet to play 3 games in a week.

That being said, it's why I've been saying for months it's completely mental for our manager to be saying 'wait until the second half of the season' and acting like Dom being back somehow stops us being crap at defending. Shock horror, it doesn't.
Remember them saying we wouldn't concede from corners with Dom back to defend them?

That lasted about 20 minutes.

If that's true I hope we are sacking this new head of medical and physio.
I think, being fair, it was always going to happen after he played 94 minutes after four months out.

He will not be able to play 3 games in the space of a week/10 days for a while yet, which is what a few of us like me and you have been pointing out for months when the 'all will be fine when Dom is back' line has been peddled.

Maybe Benitez should have taken him off for Rondon instead of Kenny then?

Shame he had to keep him on to chase the game because he'd made a mess of it from the kick off.

Well we had a sub spare like could have thrown on Dobbin if he was worried.

I think he probably thought Dom staying on to try and get a point v Brighton (FFS how sad) was worth Dom maybe feeling a bit sore this week. I get it, but he's built his entire PR spin for the last 2 months on everything being fine when Dom is back.
