How are we meant to sell our crap? Please explain this to me?
We don’t. we replace our best players with a total gambles

A lot of these Eastern European teams play a system which can work fairly well but when you take individuals out of their systems they tend to struggle.

All depends on the system - hasn't stopped Utd getting CL football regularly with AWB who doesn't get forward.

People need to reign in expectations - we dont have Full backs who'll win us a Champions League - who cares - lets qualify for it first! lol
That's not actually true, he is defo a better defensive player no doubt, but if you actually look he spends most of time in the middle part of the pitch or further up rather than sat back all the time. It just is more of an attacking game these days and teams need to take that onboard. We could give Benitez the £500m that was wasted but it won't make any difference who comes in if we are just going to sit back in games all the time and hit on the break, it's Sunday league stuff that and has nothing to do with expectations or anything, it's the basics of the game and it invites trouble. I have no problem with playing counter attack football (our neighbours have won a PL and CL doing so) but there are more modern ways of doing it than the Benitez way and injuries and spending have feck all to do with it.

Ultimately Benitez has only 1-2 of his own players in the starting 11 mate.

Needs to have a few more before we can judge the system long term.

Our fans have zero patience these days hence why we've had 5 managers in 6 years.

Can we all stop with this Digne is the best left back in the league?

He's good going forward, has an excellent left foot. But he fundamentally can't defend.

If we were in a position where we consistently dominated games that would be fine. But we aren't haven't been for a long time and that means digne hasn't been a good player for us for a long time.

He occasionally looks amazing, but his average level isn't enough for this kind of uproar.

Let’s wait til we’ve seen the lad play. I have no issue with replacing Digne with a young player providing we actually manage to sell Digne for a decent fee.

Nope, given all his 'Experience' as so many like to remind others of he should be able to work with what is in front of him, what would have happened if he had come in and we had had a transfer ban because of FFP, no choice but to just get on with it then. Also i can judge the system just fine thanks as he has never changed it for 20 years.

Digne was the most creative defender in Europe for 2 seasons (I think) that's probably where it comes from tbh

The point is that its not an issue. Never had been until a month ago.

We spend £20million and still have the same issues all over the park.

We've not upgraded we've mearly swapped a player and spent money on it.

I’ve said for a long time that the squad age needs to be brought down.

Whether we like it or not, we’ve got Benitez here, and what’s the point in having Digne, who seems unwilling to play, when we could actually get money for him and replace him.

Yes, we need other reinforcements, but end of the day, if we can actually sell someone who won’t feature for money, something we’ve not been able to do successfully in the Moshir reign, then let’s do it.

The issue I have is apart from that risk element is that it seems there is no money to spend so in reality we are forced into replacing like for like as all we can do is sell our best players and buy replacements.

I know Digne hasn’t been great but I can’t imagine this unknown 22 year old is going to perform at any better than he has
