…he seems to weird some authority, perhaps it’s financial control although as @davek rightly says, somebody has to be accountable for FFP mess.

Yeah, absolutely, I’m sure Dave’s reasoning is right.

But how can we be so poorly ran. Even as DOF, if he doesn’t want Benitez, then why are we appointing Benitez?

He should have complete control over all footballing matters and everyone else should be keeping out of it.

even the fan base have lost the plot. Just fold the club ffs . And preferably before we have to leave for Brentford next week.

Patience is for losers

No one should be patient right now. Its such a ridiculous argument and one that is part of the reasons we've gone 27 years without a trophy.

If something isn't working then change it. Patience is a laughable argument based on zero evidence.

Chelsea would definitely have won the CL last year if they had been "patient"....

Comparing Chelsea to Everton is hilarious for a start mate. We’re way off even the poorest Chelsea side of the last X amount of years.

How is changing the manager guaranteed success also?

It just gives us another short term injection of “hope” before the structure crumbles again and the squad get another fella sacked. But the exact same issues exist. At some point - whether with Rafael or someone else, we’re going to need to be solely average for a period of time in order to fix the FFP impacts/squad quality.

Chelsea are one example though. United change managers like they change underwear and it hasn't made them any better. Heck, if you want the best example you just need to look at us, as we've had some of the most decorated managers in the game and been crap for yonks.

Chelsea from the Ken Bates era were better ran than we are .

We are in a spiral, the majority of Evertonians knew this was an awful appointment and he is banged up, finished dosser.

Should this utter mess be canned and we can put this nightmare behind us

It’s a yes from me.

As you say, none of us were exectting much from Benitez but I hadn’t expected it to turn so badly this quickly.

To the extent that a visit to Brentford next week is looking like an “expected loss”.

Brentford, for crying out loud.

Not sodding good enough.

We are going to be mired in the relegation dogfight by Christmas IMO.

And this lot are no Dogs of War.

Just like the rest of the nightmares previous eh? Sack then what? Part of the reason we're in this mess is due to instability and a team of 4 or 5 managers different players. Short sightedness isn't the answer although I'll agree that we are in an utter mess which is exactly why the risk of sticking with him may be better than sacking

Chelsea also had a side built for winning, with pace and a variety of attacking options.

We have the slowest squad in the league by some distance. Sacking the manager proves one thing, the players can just down tools again, when they don’t like the manager.
