We capitulated against Villa. We capitulated again today. The manager takes some blame no?

We can’t defend set pieces when we found a system that seemingly worked last year - the manager is to take some blame for that?

What I don’t get is why it’s always black and white when it comes to Benitez - fans either despise him or have a weird love in for him.

Is all if this his fault? No of course not- our problems run much deeper than any manager and will take ages to sort out - if they ever do!!! I can’t believe how bad our squad is and the signing of Rondon hasn’t worked at all.

But when you concede 5 at home to Watford - another two from set pieces and ANOTHER five minute collapse then it’s on him as well. All well and good praising him for a great point at old Trafford but then he needs to be criticised for this horror show as well.
Absolutely.
Cant have this. Certainly not at Goodison against Watford. This is bad. This will do morale no good at all...

@ForeverBlue92 your analysis is sound but conceding 5 at home against Watford. Even Derby County fans shouldnt accept this. Poor mentality. The coach has to be blamed to some degree for this.

It seems that these mental lapses in our back 4 are contagious.

They are clueless mate absolutely loving whenever we lose a game so they can throw mud at the manager - they were doing it when we were winning so you knew it was always going to happen.

I hope they sack Benitez tomorrow and appoint Howe on the cheap - give the clowns something to really whinge about seeing Michael Keane trying to defend in a high line.

….I think it’s the most deluded statement I’ve heard on here from a few folk who say Evertonians love losing so they can criticise the manager.

Evertonians support Everton, Evertonians are desperate for their team to win. Whoever thinks Benitez is so important in the scheme of things to get in the way of that fundamental principal thinks Benitez is more important than Everton.

Evertonians want Everton to win, Benitez isn’t Everton.

We've capitulated under numerous managers from Koeman to Ancelotti - with players like Keane, Davies, Coleman etc regularly playing in the vital areas of the pitch needed to maintain control/calm.

So when do those individuals start getting the blame?

Why must we spend millions paying off yet ANOTHER manager to just give these players another chance?

Im sorry mate fans need to pipe down and give this fella 2-3 seasons to build his own side.

Its embarrassing reading the nonsense on here. Same squad of crap bags capiutlating yet its the new managers fault of course it is what a coincidence...

Weren’t we tonked by Norwich under Carlo

.…never sure what ‘get behind him’ means. Should he be exempt from criticism? If we concede 5 at home against a struggling team, should we all be really nice about him?
He'll deserve criticism for this - but not quite as much as the players who had a chance to prove they were worthy replacements for our injuries, the director of football who has overseen the vast majority of this utter shambles, and the majority owner who is clearly clueless.

So, a bad day for Benitez, without a doubt. However, there are far more culpable individuals who must be confronted first - and Benitez is the man who is now tasked with doing that. I see no benefit whatsoever in pilloring the man who is now required to clear out the fetid dead wood. We've had half a decade of blaming one manager after another. The common denominators have been Moshiri and Kenwright, and then, to a slightly lesser extent, Brands and a collection of almost ever-present players. As Moshiri is untouchable, we need to start with the dispensable: Brands and the players. Then Benitez has nowhere to hide. But this is the order that it must happen in if we are to address the problem. Drafting in Graham Potter is merely a sticking plaster that will make some feel better about themselves and, probably, increase the risk of a relegation battle.

If its embarrassment you want take a look back at some of your posts !!

Sack him and bring in who?

We had one of the best managers on the planet and he couldn’t get a tune out of this lot

Evertonians will never be happy its as simple as that.

We are the most frustrated fanbase in the country and nothing but top 6 or a trophy is good enough and the problem is its the 11 on the pitch that get you a trophy or top 6 finish not the bloke sat in the dugout.

Potter would be fav to replace Benitez and Brighton drew 0-0 to bottom of the league Norwich - can you imagine the fume on here "cant score a goal against bottom of the table Norwich eff off Potter you Rodney Trotter lookalike!!"
