Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I make an excellent chicken noodle soup which all your talk of soup makes me want. Unfortunately it is still too warm here to think about soup.

If you can't have the fruit you like, can you have fruit juice?

The only fruit juice I tend to like is orange juice. I can have peaches and plums as their skin is soft and its a stone not seeds. An apple I would have to peel. Basically I can have the flesh of the fruit and skins that are soft. I can't risk anything with skin as that is too much fibre and doesn't digest enough or anything with seeds in as both of these things can cause blockages. I got 2 yellow melons in hindsight I should have just got 1 and a water melon as well for a bit more variety.

My mam used to make a brilliant home made lentil soup. That would be banned now but back in the day when she hit the spot with it I would have 2 or 3 massive bowls with bread as it was amazing.

Didnt know this thread was still going, I usually just stay on the Everton forum. Hope you're keeping well buddy youre still in our prayers. Mums homemade soup and stew are the greatest no matter how old we are. Reading what you should eat reminded me of my granda - he was the craziest most independent man ever, he had throat cancer and was only allowed liquified food but he wouldnt listen to anyone-he would go to the nearby chipshop who were known for their fat chips, hed force them down thinking he'd knock the tumours off or widen his throat so the tumours wouldn't be a problem, near choked himself everynight but hed do it again the next day lol. Moyes against Benitez this weekend and we'll be cheering Benitez team - crazy world. Anyways get your rest brother goodnight and God Bless. ?

Yeah I decided it would be best place for me to give updates on my health. I didn't want to monopolise the Depression thread as it might lead to someone asking for help being missed amongst my updates. Then it became a ginger safe haven which meant there was some light hearted relief amongst the intense stuff. If only we could just knock the tumours off. Credit to your grandfather for at least enjoying his final part of his journey. My mam made awesome hot pot and lentil soup. I used to look forward to the dark nights when she made them.

I can't believe we appointed Benitez but now he's here we've got to support him but I hope they get rid soon once they realise he will only take us so far. Moyes I was done with when he left. I think the Lescott situation broke him with regards to us and all he was bothered about was getting the United job. I'm glad he failed there and a few times after because he used us. At times he had us playing great football but sometimes his masterstrokes were just luck. I hold him no malice now so as long as he doesn't finish above us I wish him well. If we get 3 points it puts us in a good position as I think 5th-12th will be very close.

Shopping trip was disaster as I had completed mental block and couldn't think of anything to buy. I even forgot the soup. My sister tried helping but I think my anxiety of going out made my mind fall to pieces. The only thing I got pretty much were fish fingers and bread. Luckily I love fish finger sandwiches. Also my good friend is coming tomorrow and he is going to take me shopping again and I've jotted a few things down. SOUP is a must and I'm going to get some jelly as well. I managed to remember lucozade which should help with energy and I bought 2 melons as it is one of the few fruits I'm allowed. Luckily I like it. I've lost some of my favourites like grapes which I would need to peel also strawberries and Kiwi because they have seeds. I like to keep you updated but its nice to hear about your days as well. I've worked in an office for a long time and there is no better feeling than helping someone with their problems. Now there is so much home working it's meant it's harder to be there for folks. Helping others takes your mind off your own problems so is therapeutic. I hope this thread continues as a way of talking each other through problems. Not Depression or Mental Health as we already have an amazing thread for that but if someone wants to bounce an idea about general life come in here get 2nd opinion about it. Love you all nearly as much as I love Everton and that is a lot. They have disappointed me more than you lot ever could also. I'll type some more in the morning hopefully it will not be as long winded.
Hey darling, I wouldn’t called it a disaster if you still manage to got fish, bread, tuna and melon ? but having a shopping list tomorrow will help you remember getting the other items. I’m all about shopping list, weekly menus, following recipes, etc. as I’ve mentioned, I’m very OCD lol

I totally relate that there is no better feeling than helping others with their problems even if it is as an empathetic listener. I’m very fortunate to be able to do that through my work. Sometimes students are so just so overwhelmed with life while also attending classes so it is satisfying to help them make their school experience a smooth one, instead of becoming another stressful problem. Like you, I definitely miss going to the office. I have become a distant adviser since the pandemic began and do all my work from home so I do miss seeing my students face to face, and I miss those office interactions with coworkers. Did I read correctly that you are still doing some work from home?

Moms soups are the best. My mum makes super yummy ones. I prepare a lot of soups for my daughter too. Once the weather begins getting cold I make them regularly at home. Lentil soup is also one of my favorite ones, although I have different ways to make it. A Colombian recipe that has plantains and one that’s more like an Indian style with sweet potato and coconut milk.

What’s your favorite biscuit and/or dessert?

I hope you are having sweet dreams ?

Old timer self remedies volume 2. Not my grandad, but an elderly 80-ish neighbour when I were just a scrap of a lad growing up in Salford - must have been the early 70s. My dad said he popped around to his garden one day and found him relaxing in a deck chair with a car battery clipped to his toe and an ear. He claimed he was charging himself up.

He went on a long, long holiday soon after that. So long we never saw him again. Didn't go with his wife oddly enough. Godspeed Mr Hoddy.

Good morning, Messy. Hope today is a good day. Hate shopping myself, usually forget what I went for and increasingly rely on shopping lists, unless of course, I leave the list on the kitchen table?. Sun is shining again here so I hope it shines for you today.?

Morning a few things were slightly out of place in my last blood test so I'm going hospital for checks this morning. I'll let you know what's going on once I know more.

How was the vegan lasagne? I help my elderly neighbour out from time to time, just got her a new microwave. Her old one was bought when her husband died 20 years ago so was in need of replacing urgently. Got one pretty much the same as the old one so thought she’d be ok with it after leaving precise instructions on how to use it. Received a call the next day to say she couldn’t undo the container after heating some custard. God knows how she did it, the lid was sealed tight and the air had been completely sucked out. ?
