Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

So where exactly is this?
It is near Asheville (my city) off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We live in North Carolina on the east coast. The mountains you see are the Blueridge mountains, they get their name because from the distance they look blueish.

I’m a very visual person so hopefully this map drawing helps you visualize where I’m and the location of the mountains.

This is from Wikipedia:

“The Blue Ridge Mountains began forming during the Silurian Period over 400 million years ago. Approximately 320 million years ago, North America and Europe collided, pushing up the Blue Ridge. At the time of their emergence, the Blue Ridge were among the highest mountains in the world and reached heights comparable to the much younger Alps. Today, due to weathering and erosion over hundreds of millions of years, the highest peak in the range, Mount Mitchell in North Carolina, is only 6,684 feet (2,037 m) high – still the highest peak east of the Mississippi River in the US”

The map was actually very helpful and also explains why you are only 5 hours behind. Last week when I asked I was expecting you to be 7 hours behind.

Where I live in England is called the Lake District and it has some beautiful scenery as well but I probably take it for granted. I'm not much of a walker not even when I was younger and able.

I’m glad it was. Yes, we are only 5 hours behind if we were in the west coast it would be 8.

I just googled your area and it looks gorgeous too. Growing up in Colombia I used to walk a lot but mostly in the city. It was my hubby who inculcated me the love for hiking and camping, because I was a city girl until I moved to the US and became a mountain woman lol

How are you feeling today?

I've always been an indoors person. I do like going out but I don't like bugs or creatures.

So you now have the benefits of having grown up in one lifestyle and then shown another. City girl finds country life. I'm just a simple life type of guy I don't like to go to far although I have been on holiday. I get extreme anxiety before I go but once I'm there I'm fine. Then coming home I get it again.

I'm ok still tired a lot more than I would like to be.

Hi @anjelikaferrett what do you think of the Ashes squad. I think its about as strong as we could be but with no Ben Stokes I expect them to win 3-0, 4-0, 3-1, 4-1. I don't think they'll have enough to Whitewash us but it's going to be painful.

Agree it is the best they could have picked under the circumstances. There's a few of them who need to up their game Zak Crawley for one. Not much real pace there either. Only Wood who can consistently get over 90mph. Cant see us winning like you say. But you never know....

I've eaten but it's still very poor but I will endeavour to get it to a normal level at some point even if I have to start eating things like cake and biscuits to make it up.

How's things your end?
Cake and biscuits sounds magnificent.

Where do I sign up for this?

Good here mate, about to leave Warrington and head back to Liverpool so that's a bonus lol

Can sympathise. Since I came out of hospital a couple of months ago, I have had no appetite, Unusual for me. The problem is, you tend to eat the food you really enjoy but is not always the best for your dietary needs. One big plus is that the new harvest of sprouts is out, my favourite vegetable.
Was going to post 'eat more cabbage and less chocolate cake' - but felt like a hypocrite! lol

I’m definitely more of the outdoor type, when is nice and sunny I even take my laptop outside and sun bathe while working lol

Indeed. Growing up in Colombia was very different than my current life but I’m glad I got to enjoy both experiences. Simple life is good so nothing wrong with that. I can be a social butterfly but with family and friends, I don’t like crowds, so whenever we go on Holiday or even hiking we try to stay away from the masses as much as possible.

Im sure you wish you felt less tired but you already being so strong by continuing going and I’m grateful for every moment you do. Xx

I'm on a low residue diet and that is eat all nice things that are unhealthy but I still can't make myself eat. The painkillers suppress my appetite and unfortunately the tumours are all around my bowel which means my stomach has nowhere to expand to so earing can occasionally be painful. I will find something eventually.

Eat little and often, mate.
