Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I love the idea of changing the name of your thread to Ginger Safe Haven and keeping it going in your honor and for it to become a place for people to be nice to each other and find comfort with one another. I also agree with your assessment of the Depression thread, it is one of my favorite threads because of how supportive and caring everyone is there.

Well my day hasn't gone as planned either, instead of cleaning I have been typing away here lol

While discussing one's funeral is not the type of conversation that's easy to have, it is important that you are letting your family and friends know what are your wishes. Your decisions will actually help them no having to guess what to do to honor you properly. Is there something else besides the Ginger Safe Haven thread that you wish for us to do to memorialize you?

Mates know us better than family most of the time. No need to ever be anything but yourself with mates but family is more complicated. They are worried about you mate and struggling in their own way and it will be you guiding them through as you see already.

I don’t follow F1 at all I must admit but your talk of setting alarms on a Saturday morning is chilling me to the bone.

No just having this as a be nice too each other thread makes me feel good. I just like to think people can be nice to each other. I like banter as much as the next person in fact I thrive on it when I'm well. However sometimes it over steps the mark intentionally and sometimes in error so you should always be careful what you say. Family is so difficult as they care bit they quite often come from such a different place spiritualy. You pick friends because you have similar interests.

Hey typing away on here is far better but I know what you mean sometimes I lose whole afternoons. I hope you aren't too hard on yourself for not cleaning. What you can't do today will sort tomorrow.

I hate alarms I feel like they are mini control freaks trying to tell me what to do.

This is a nice thread. I wish I could have set up under different circumstances. Maybe after my time it should be the renamed Ginger safe haven and general be nice to each other thread. The Depression thread always fills me with warm feelings even though the subject matter at times is raw. Everyone trying to help each other and people able to get there feelings off there chest.

Today didn't really go as planned. I got up fell asleep on the sofa so missed F1 practice. I will definitely make sure I watch qualifying tomorrow. Eating wise I'm still eating too little but I ate more today than I did yesterday.

I've also been discussing my funeral plans with family and friends. I know its a bit grim but it's needed done. I'm going for something I would like to attend. Everyone has said they will try and keep it as close as possible to plan, as they know I will still be a control freak after my time has come.

Thanks everyone who comes in here and likes or comments it means the world to me.

I think that I speak for all on here when I say that this thread has a life and meaning of its own, thanks to you and I for one will continue to post in here.

Also, I am a sucker for a good story, and to my mind, a good end to a story is on the whole more important than its beginning.

Sod all that though, we have more important matters to discuss like Everton and Benitez:confused:

Hello mate, just popping in to say hello and see how you're doing.
Makes me smile after a crap day in work coming in here and seeing you being so positive despite the shiite you're going through. Thanks for that, really does lift my spirits.
It's also nice to have a thread were Death isn't being a massive knobend so win/win

Keep on being a legend x

Keeping this thread going, as you say, after your time is a great idea, but I disagree slightly on your suggested title because I think we should keep your name on it. This thread will be your legacy to GOT and I, and I'm sure plenty more of us, will continue to post in here for the forseeable future. Posts will be in the spirit of being nice to each other out of respect for you. Anyone behaving like a bellend should be banned from the thread.

This thread is incredibly sad, but also hugely uplifting, thanks to you. You've shown such positivity, bravery and dignity, and your sense of humour has also shone through despite everything that you're going through. Whenever I read your posts in here it lifts my spirits and just puts everything else into perspective.

Massive respect to you, mate. We've never met and never will, but I'm perceptive enough to know that you're a prime example of the best of humanity.

Look after yourself, remember to eat and try to be patient with family members. X

I'll try my best to keep you cheered up. Nothing worse than a crap day at work.

I feel a little awkward because the thread is about me but I am also delighted people like it.

With all the medications I take I find it takes me ages to think of and then type the things I want to say. Occasionally when I read them there is random typos and wrong words altogether typed.

Don't worry about what to type, and we don't care about any typos. You don't have to always come up with inspiring words.

Just type what you feel, even if it's just to vent or moan. We won't judge you. We're here for you.

Another good thing with this thread is we can talk cricket in the open without spamming other threads. I hope it goes ahead but it must not go ahead if there is a significant risk to any players mental health. They will always get 16 players but if big names drop out not only will it devalue the series but there might be players further down the pecking order who risk their mental health just to play in Ashes series. It needs very careful consideration.

Isn't it funny how many people found there love for football because of that WC in 1990.
I've just read that the ECB have said that the tour will go ahead subject to "several critical conditions being met" Not sure what that means - the ball is very firmly in the Australian Government's court. If they won't relax the rules then I'm sure some major players will drop out.

My son is a huge fan of F1. He also loves the Moto GP bike racing which I'm starting to get into because of watching it with him. It is absolutely mental the speeds they go on those bikes.I lost interest in F1 when James Hunt retired! ? ? ?

Hope you are having a good day today. Take care

Yeah I like Everton most when it comes to watching then I like either F1 or cricket. All totally different and satisfy different things. I like the darts but I've kind of drifted my interest over last 2-3 years.

My dad loved the motorbikes he was a biker growing up he died when I was 12. I am impressed by the bravery of the riders as they have minimal protection.

So you only watched the F1 for the eye candy??

There will be a tour of some sort but I just hope no one takes a risk with their mental health.

Just James Hunt. I loved him. There will never be anybody like him again. Booze, women, fast cars. If you haven't watched the film Rush about him and Nikki Lauda watch it. I was expecting to hate it - because I remembered the actual events in the year Hunt won the world championship but it was brilliant. Well worth a watch.

Thanks and I do feel like I can type what I want in here. Everyone who has been in here has been so supportive and it means the world. I judge myself for typos, spelling errors and out of context words I'm a perfectionist.

We should all be here for each other. What you said earlier was bang on. We will probably never meet but we have other forces bringing us together.

I think I've seen it but I get chance I might give it another look. He was the George Best or Ian Botham of F1.

Again my dad was a big F1 fan. Oddly though he liked Mansell who I'm not too keen on. My favourite F1 driver is Fernando Alonso.

Wouldn't worry too much, nobody else is arsed mate, we're all in awe of how you keep smiling and keep being so positive each day.
Oh and don't feel awkward, everyone who posts here does so because they care and choose to do so. x

Was never keen on Mansell, I can't take to Lewis Hamilton either. Daniel Ricciardo is my favourite of the current lot. Alonso is good too. he's done wonders with that car this year.
