the side he built at Liverpool was outstanding. two CL finals, he bought some amazing players, some duffers who he moved on, as does every manager. But how many managers buy excellent players and move them to world class? And how many times did he buy excellent players for buttons like Bellamy and Crouch. Buying and selling players is for us now a strength. He's better at it than Moyes, high praise indeed.
The side he built???

He won all the honours in his 2nd season; it wasn’t his team.

When he invested very heavily, the closest they came was a 1 season run when they came 2nd in the league

If Real really pay us 75M or above for Rich in this two week, I would let him go. We really dont need a player who dont want to play for us. However, it seems it would not happen…
He is worth more to us than Real will value him at. However, next year he is into his final year of contract.

so it was the Djimi Traore team that was the good one?
No, he was several steps up from El Hadj diouf Houliier. the team he built was outstanding, they should have won the league. Relax, we're in good hands.

No it wasn’t.

so getting to Champions League finals and missing out on the league by a whisker isn't evidence of an outstanding team. why not?

The team that won the Champions League and the team that missed out on the league by a whisker are two completely different sides. The side that missed out on the league by a whisker was the Benitez team, that team actually won nothing at all and he was sacked a year after that. He spent an absolute fortune on that side.

If we had signed those players instead of the RS and Napoli etc, we'd in a much better place. Obviously, you will never admit this

In fact, looking at his signings, 75% would have walked into our then squads. Again, will never be admitted.
I notice you have left Newcastle off the list of examples you have given. He signed a barrel load of crap for the barcodes.
