Found a place near me that has 2 Springbank 12YO Cask Strength ($130) and one bottle of Bruichladdich Octomore 11.3 ($250...*gulp*), both of which are a g'damn miracle around here...I've avoided driving by ever since; dangerous.

I would love a bottle of any Octomore expression but just can't bring myself to spend that much money on whisky I'm afraid to say.

Anyone tried aberlour? Proper nice stuff that. I’ve got a bunnahabain on the go at the moment, also good. They’re also doing tasting nights which might be worthwhile.

I always have an Aberlour 12 in the cupboard. Very smooth. Which one have you got?

Can't go wrong with Bunnahabhain, every version is tasty.

You’re well placed on the whisky trail there. Head to Dufftown and take it from there.

Glenmorangie in Tain. Thoroughly recommend it - It’s impossible to pass through the visitor centre without buying at least 2 bottles of the good stuff

Glen Moray would work - you'll be close and it's a really nice mid-sized distillery. Their tasting tour used to include a dram of 30 yr port cask, which is worth a long drive in any direction.
