People mentioning neto he's extraordinary and would be absurdly priced but if we enlisted a player from wolves I'd want Reuben Neves
Him in a three with Allan and Doucoure would be tasty. He is levels above Gomes.People mentioning neto he's extraordinary and would be absurdly priced but if we enlisted a player from wolves I'd want Reuben Neves
For me we need more dynamism in the midfield as well as power.
Daichi Kamadais having a great season with Frankfurt - 3 goals and 11 assists to add to last season's 10 goals and 9 assists.
He has that something different from all our midfielders and he could very happily play as part of the top of the diamond.
That zyitech fella at Chelsea is hardly pulling up trees
Lads on here were bringing sheets to the launderette every second day thinking about him joining us
How many players in the last 10 years have come to the PL from Holland and been a success
There was a bit in that interview he did a bit with Rio Ferdinand where when asked about playing fullbacks he made very clear he was a CB and was only doing a job for the team and wanted to play as a CB. It didn't sound to me he was enormously happy with the role he had.
He must also see that there is a lot of speculation about a new right back. There was probably a world, where Ancelotti and the club essentially knuckled down with Holgate and decided he was the medium term choice and would get a run at it, and given time to improve. Whatever the rights and wrongs of that (and I appreciate it's probably an unpopular view that he could be a 1st choice) it has been decided that is not the avenue they are going down.
I also have a theory on this utility player stuff, that is essentially since more subs came in, it killed the utility man. Even till the early 00's you were only allowed 3 subs, so a lad like Holgate either on your bench or on the pitch gave you options of changing shape or playing a number of players. There was a value in them. The movement to 5, then 7 now 9 subs has essentially killed that off. I don't think it's the key element by any stretch, but versatility is not as key a component as maybe it once was.
As I've got older I've become more ruthless about such things as player trading. I like Holgate, but if theres a choice between a 4th choice or 15-20m pounds my answer is clear. That doesn't mean I don't like Holgate at all, but the money can be better spent. It's like saying would you rather Hoglgate or a 1st choice rightback akin to Lucas Digne? It's not a zero sum game.
I’d be having a sniff at Henderson for us if he became available, lad is a serious keeper and I’d say he would be keen to play.
I’d be one of those, who would be a big advocate of dropping serious money on a keeper and walking away for ten years mate. But 100 mill...I think I’d fold at 50 mill. If Utd were spending 100 mill on Oblak I’d be in like a shot.
Oblak, is a good keeper mind but I wonder how he would fair in less pragmatic side then Athletico.
I actually think Pickford is a really talented keeper and banged the drum for him on here before we signed him, I just think he’s not psychologically up to it, I don’t think he has the composure to be up to the pitch of reliability of what we need.
Neto is excellent, he would really add to us and has huge headroom, think that horse has bolted though and he will go for mega money.
Noooooooooo. Even the Villa fans want to send him back to Chelsea now, they are particularly irritated by the way he jogs around & makes no effort to track back except if he loses the ball.Rat Barkley would be ideal for what we need. Shame he's Rat Barkley.
Beat us 2-0 the other nightChiesa![]()
Exactly mate, couldn’t have put it better, 9/10 he does something, when nothing is needed, his head is to busy and he thinks he needs to be involved when he doesn’t. The best keepers do nothing very well when required.
If I was a PL manager I’d be saying to my team, get Pickford riled up, take shots from distance, get him to make decisions. You know there is a clanger in there. I’d target him as a weak link. Under that scenario, I’d be keeping - pardon the pun - our options open and our eyes wide on a new keeper, Olsen isn’t the long term answer either.
We don’t need an injury prone child in a mans bodyRat Barkley would be ideal for what we need. Shame he's Rat Barkley.

Thought we pay similar to Bern? The Rabiot links persist, there could be something in it, im not sure we would pay him £115,385 per week as reported. But if we could move some of our deadwood out in the summer, I would like us to bring him in. I think we need at least 8 central midfielders if we are going to compete domestically and in europe, at the moment I would say we have 6 ( James, Alan, Doucoure, Sigurdsson, Davies and Gomes). Then there are those that never play.... like Delph.
