ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I agree & I dont think there is a quick fix personally, what I'm trying to say is there is reasonable rationale to write the season off as an anomaly, whether that is right or wrong. I realise all clubs have had to deal with the same issues, but internally at Liverpool the will look at the injuries, lack of crowd, Covid season, possibly VAR and so on & just say "write it off as a freak and move one" -

I think in a weird way, it gives them a physchological chance to bounce back which you don't under any other circumstances. Even the practicality of the players being in a better headspace once lockdown is over will be a positive.

With all that said, I think the problems run way deeper & they will struggle to bounce back here, but my belief would be they will go down the "write it off" approach & get players back in positions get two or three out & in and go for a "fresh start" with lots of Unity with the fans etc etc messages.
There is that much wrong with that post I don’t know where to start
Accept it lad they are done and dusted
When Sir Jordan took the knee the scum still managed to be top at Christmas
They either stopped taking the PEDs or the effects have worn off and the players are knackered
The fall off only started at Christmas
With St Virgil in the team they lost 7-2 to Villa
This has more to do with Klopps inadequacy and the players falling off a Cliff than it has to do with injuries
They spent 80 m in the summer on a world champion pointer , a FB who can’t get a game and a striker who they ruined by playing him in a dead rubber
They will not be back for a few years with no CL and no fans in the ground they are financially screwed
99% of the posters revel in this , a few however for whatever reason fail to see it
6 times lad , 6 times
8 games at home with no win and only one goal scored from open play
Ederson has more assists this season than Thiago , let that sink in

Apologies if I was unclear here. I was not arguing that there are enough mitigating circumstances; I was saying (or at least trying to say) my expectation is that the owners will not consider sacking him & will do their best to write it all off as a bizarre freak of circumstance.
Their projected balance sheet for next season says otherwise

1) Agreed
2) 100% agreed - this is probably the most important point in any bounce back debate
3) Disagree - they have missed the most days to injury & the most match (PL) appearances due to injury. Both very similar stats & the most telling, despite it ignoring the compounded nature of their injury list. They have double the average in both metrics compared to league in totality
4) I'm not so sure, I think it's an easy argument to say, they havent conceded that many goals; so therefore defence has been ok, but the reality for them is their full backs and MF have both massively struggled without the platform offered by their defence. Tons of variables for this, including confidence, lack of Midfield & their triangles and so on and so on. What I do think will be one of Klopps biggest regrets from this season will be failing to back Nat Phillips from early doors & shoehorning MF's into CB, which with hindsight (as many argued at the time as well) was a stupid decision.

On the overarching point of the Klopp next move - I'd tend to agree; it's a hailmary play & I think it is unlikely he can reverse this seasons collapse, but I feel it is the only chance he has & there are more variables in his favour than Pochettino had. He can argue next year will be different with the return of the crowds, injuries, rest, pre season and simply civilization getting back to normal. Poch had none of these cards to play, players were tired & it was very hard for Poch to make a case for proper change. As an outsider looking in it does feel like everything together has hit them hard, they look downbeat, sad and feeling sorry for themselves. Covid is certainly not the cause of that, but it will take its toll when other things are tough.

In terms of predicting points totals, I appreciate it is your best guess and nothing more, but for me it is an impossible task, especially with no clue what their squad will look like. What we are seeing more and more is there is little correlation in results from one year to the next & there is no reason that will change, it could get worse. Simply look at Villa / West Ham for counter intuitive performances, there are countless of examples of +20 point swings in PL performance year on year and that trend seems to be growing rather than declining.

My guess is they are at the point, where they are praying they dont get Europa or the other tournament managing a lighter load with the hope of getting top 4 the next year, but that is of course risky business in itself.
Liverpool FC praying they don’t Europe
Lad get a grip
If they don’t get Europe they are screwed financially with the wage bill they have

I disagree - I have argued the same for ourselves, I dont think the Europa league is some sort of utopia and it inhibits progress rather than assists it.

I would assume their projected balance sheet would make it less likely, rather than more likely that they would sack?
FSG will not take the risk that Klopp has a repeat season next year
They will see what happened to Dortmund and sit Klopp down
He will walk rather than be pushed
He is too egotistical to have a sacking on his CV
He is deluded enough to believe his own hype

Please read my post again, I'm not suggest they are going to bounce back, in fact I said the complete opposite.

Again, what I said was, he may well walk, but I do not believe they will sack him - good to see such agreement again Bris

And Slippy G will be in the dug out next season
I’d like that.
Don’t care how good a player he was, he has absolutely no aura about him.
As if big stars are going to be queuing up to play for him.
He might have done well in the Biblical Backward Scottish League of nobody Cares, but this would be far too big a step up for him.
He looks and carries the aura of a scally.

Liverpool is the club which holds the English record for the highest spend in a calendar year, just three years ago.

Net spend FC at it again - biggest myth going that they don't spend insane amounts of cash, on some absolutely terrible footballers.

It's hilarious that the customers are going after fsg and not Herr Shipmann for the shitshow currently unfolding - back to their deluded best!

That’s Kilppertys out card right there
It makes it easier to visit the dentist if he’s based in Germany
He will claim no one can turn down the national team job
I hope he resigns and does not get the German Job
I hope Slippy comes in and is completely out of his depth as Lampard was at Chelsea
