He is by far my favourite in the current squad, exactly the Everton DNA type.

Hopefully the team progress otherwise I can see him being snagged by City within a couple of years when he is at his best age (25-26). He has all the traits of top modern CB; fast, good passer and tenacious. All the traits required in high press, build from back and counter attacking.

God we're a difficult bunch to please. No matter which player thread you go into there's people nitpicking about this and that. Even amongst our defenders despite a third clean sheet in a row and briefly occupying a champions league spot.

I think some of you want perfection or nothing.

Anyway, well played Ben. Another good performance to add to the many previous ones. Probably been our most consistent performer this season.

His performances have been so consistently excellent that I almost dismiss him as MotM material because I'm used to him being so good and making the game look easy.

He is still young and learning but he has the winning mentality we need more of at the club.

The fee paid for him looks cheaper by the week.

No. He was moving toward goal. He got lucky.
