My view of this is, in a non Covid world the two clubs players probably regularly intermingle. I remember seeing images of Cahill, Arteta, Alonso and Reina eating out together.

;lets be fair about this, they have more in common with each other than they do with us punters. I used to see Tim Cahill out with the St Helens RL team a few times.

I watched it on Bein sports and Beglin was commentating, what an absolute plum he is.

To be fair Beglin had a decent game apart from claiming that it wasn't a penalty in his opinion. Usually very biased when commenting on his team.

I gave it to Pickers to make for all the stick I've given him in the past. Eventhough Keano was the best on the pitch Pickford's performance was classy and courageous (not something usually associated with him).

I thought it was quite telling that the RS players didn't complain about the pen. Still, as he is wont to do, Souness just decided that it wasn't and no more had to be said about it.

My youngest lad is 22. He's never seen us beat them at The Pit. My eldest lad is 25. He was just short of his 4th birthday when Campbell got the winner. That night he went to bed at HT when we were leading 1-0. When I woke him up in the morning his first words were...."did we win?"!!
Last night after the game they got bladdered together.... and I'm so made up for them! About time too. Lets hope there's more to come!

My lads are both less than 3yo. They’ve never known us lose to them.

Jordan Pickford: It is with some hesitation that I find myself selecting Jordan Pickford for my team of the week.

It was Pickford who put Virgil van Dijk out of the previous Merseyside derby with an awful challenge that went unpunished.

However, football moves on very quickly and Pickford seemed intent on inflicting even more pain on Liverpool, this time, on his return to Anfield. The England goalkeeper made a number of first-class saves, not least from Jordan Henderson's volley.

I can't imagine the reception Pickford would have received had Liverpool fans been in the ground. Like on so many occasions, the absence of supporters has made such a huge difference.

Richarlison: If Liverpool's title race was not entirely over after their defeat against Manchester City it certainly is now.

Jordan Henderson's departure from their defeat against Everton has sealed that. The one player who might have galvanised a last-minute challenge to what seems an unassailable Manchester City lead might have been Henderson.

Once the England midfielder went off injured that was the end of that. However, Everton seem to have got Richarlison playing again.
