Moyes linked with Villa and Spurs

We actually know 100% that LCAB (our ITK) is 100% accurate. And has proven as such over not just months, actual years. He's unconcerned, so everyone on here is completely unconcerned.

Moyes would only leave us for a club who could challenge for honours, and with the greatest of respect to Aston Villa you're as far away from that as we are. There's literally no incentive for him to move, including financially, as I massively doubt Lerner will stump up the money needed for Moyes considering, as you say, you're actually cutting your wage bill out of necessity.

It's a non-starter mate. If it were Spurs Moyes was linked with, it'd be a different story and I'd be concerned.
Yes, but what we have here is ITKs on either side who sound bombproof giving conflicting info. Something has to give.

Their main ITK on Twitter was convinced Charlie Adam was about to sign for Villa in January. 'nuff said :)

Not really mate. Just dig a bit and you find in July last year this feller had Milner to Man City for £28M...in August he went there for £26M with Ireland going the other way.

He has a solid reputation by the looks of things.

But his last actual ITK guess (and guess it was proven to be) was Adam, and he'd switched jobs, which I'm betting put him out of the loop but his ego needs the adulation of the interwebs crowd.

He'll be wrong again here, for all the reasons posted earlier.

Villa did go for him though.

So, which ITK do you trust more, at the moment, DaveK? Do you honestly think Moyes is Villa bound?

I dont know. Lerner is out of the country and so is Moyes and I thik people are putting the two together.

This AVFCmysterman does intrigue me though. As I said, he seems to have good form.

We'll see.

The club's not in too bad a shape financially speaking, the big problem is the wage bill compared to the turnover, which is absolutely ridiculous thanks to MON's somewhat generous approach to player contracts! We've managed to shift a fair bit of deadwood out now, bound to be a fair few more sales over the summer though. I've heard the compensation would be around £7 million, a lot to pay obviously but apparently Lerner is a big admirer of DM and tried to get him last year before we signed Houllier, but Kenwright said no point blank, wouldn't be surprised to see Lerner pay it though, he's been happy to invest cash when needed so far (e.g. Bent signing).

It's difficult to tell where DM is on Lerner's list of choices, I get the impression that he's got a fair few irons in the fire. From what I can tell, the Martinez thing only came out in the press because Dave Whelan started shouting his mouth off about it. Lerner normally conducts his business quietly, so I wouldn't be too surprised if he's had negotiations with several clubs (including your own, perhaps) that have just been kept quiet.

Many would beg to differ on the finances.

You've correctly identified the problem, but you're its a massive assumption that you'll clear the annual losses as quickly as suggesting.

Last year £37million losses, £45 million the year before.

Debts have mounted. Losses remain high.

And there's other reasons not mentioned why all is not well at Villa. Even if you sell off Young and Downing.

Oh and Lerner's not invested any more cash - in Bent. It was from player sales. Its basic balance the books on transfers whilst still taking the hit on wages?

Is that actual progress? Is it investment? No its not.

It's always difficult to know which ITK's are actually accurate. The main one over on VillaTalk broke the Houllier appointment and Bent signing a good few days before either happened, and well before the mainstream media cottoned on, which would suggest they know what they're talking about, but I'd imagine your ITK's would know something of it if a deal was happening.

Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to other targets mate! Lerner plays his hand so close to his chest that most of the time stuff doesn't get leaked until he wants it to. The problem with him being so quiet though is that it leaves the journos free to make up whatever ****e they like, which is why in the last week we've been 'on the verge of appointing' McClaren, Ranieri, Martinez, Benitez, Moyes, Coyle, McLeish, Grayson, Hughes, even Wenger at one point!

Obvious nonsense mate. Only thing that makes me think Moyes is that he's the only one the ITK's are on about, even when the media was linking us to the others there was nothing coming from the ITK's to support it, even a couple of former villa players have mentioned Moyes on twitter, assuming the accounts are real of course.

Tough being a football fan sometimes!
If Moyes went to villa , he would have to spend 25/30 million just to get Villa on the same level as everton , Ashley young is days from signing for united , Stewart downing could well follow soon enough , he'd have to then spend atleast another 25 million to compete for silverwear/ champs league qualification , another 10 mill to acquire Moyes services, so it would cost villa money they wouldn't spend , why would Moyes jump out of the frying pan into the fire , to a club which hand on heart is a sideways step

Do you not think LCAB and THT have good form, though? This surely would have been a bigger issue, in the Everton Camp, than the Ba deal, would it not?

The feller's still insistent...

Interesting. Given this and the overnight press stories Everton need to come out and dispel this if it's not true. It could affect Moyes' ability to persuade players (even the likely bargain basement players) that all is stable at the club.

Why? Why do they need to come out every single time a rumour monger decides to open trap????

They don't owe us anything like that. FFS, your expectation of the club is ridiculous sometimes.

They have good form too. That's why it's interesting.

Given how vehement they are that Moyes is going nowhere right now, it's hard to get past that.

Something in the way of a statement from the club would be in order now, i reckon.

A few words to settle the ship is needed. Moyes is not back for another 9 days or so and this speculation does no one any good.

To be honest, hunny, I'd believe what came from LCAB and THT, more than I would the club website.
