He's useless - mad how some fans develop amnesia when it comes to our bench players.
come on now!
he calculated the moment to stay onside and played smart by letting the ball flip forward to strike it.
I never was too critical of Bernard. Instead, I was among the first in the campaign to get rid of Sigurdsson and Gomes, now look at those two! With the first signs of improvement, I said to myself that is still not good enough, you've been crap for too long, so should do a lot more to makes us believe you are good for the team. If Gomes and Sigurdsson are capable to change in a good way - almost everybody could :p

Hopefully see him used a bit more between now and the end of the season. If Richarlison is covering DCL he is the ideal man to come in on the left.

Value is as an impact sub I think. Can’t take the rigors of banging bodies with big defenders for 90 minutes. Bring him on late when everyone is tired and hes running around like the back four are lampposts.
Bernard is the same height as Kante, who is widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. He's actually taller than Aaron Lennon, whose height didn't stop him playing about 400 PL games.

But Kante is strong, even if he is small. And he's one of the most intense workers the premier league has ever seen. And most importantly he knows how to do his role

Lennon was rapid and agile, low centre of gravity which made him hard to knock off the ball and he was so quick you probably fouled him. Again he knew how to player as a winger

I think the issue with Bernard isn't just his lack of any physical attributes but also what's his role, how does he impact a game? Someone posted something similar about Iwobi, he has ability but doesn't actually know how to play the game or what he should be doing on the pitch

Given that both have played an awful lot at a high level for both club and country, they probably have a bit of an idea how to play the game

I thought he was terrible in normal time, grew into it abit in extra time and his goal put a gloss on it, but no where near good enough for me.

Neat and tidy player, but as many have mentioned just hasn’t got any of the physical attributes to have a proper impact in this leauge.

Whatever you think about Siggurdson and Bernard that 5th goal was a moment of magic, beautifully executed and worthy of deciding a barnstormer of a cup tie.

That chip from Siggy took the whole Spurs defence out of it. Bernard timed it well and his volley, well take a while to see a strike as good as that on the run. Nearest to it was the crack from DCL at the start.

Seemed to have an outpouring of emotion when he scored and Coleman made sure at the end if almost telling him "you won us that"

For reasons unknown to us (he's mentioned the anxiety attack he had so that could have had a bigger impact than we know) he's massively lost his way the last 12 months so it will have done him no harm whatsoever being the match winner with such a tidy finish
