I don't think it is an indication of his beliefs in any of his youth players. People were saying the same thing about him picking an out-of-form (or some would say in-form, to his level) James Beattie over Vaughn.

An indication of his beliefs in those two players is the reality that he has not started them yet.

Am I the only one thinking grav since his return, has been no different whatsoever to how he was the first time he was here(ie.[Poor language removed])?

dont forget, first time round it took him 4 years to adapt!

we'll get a good half-season from him in a few years!!

Absolutly spot on. he was shiit first time round and he's shitter now. how can any one think this clown can do a job for us. Runs round like a headless chicken an has no idea what the fukk he's doing. I thought carsley was going to give him a dig half way through the 2nd half yesterday.

He's shiit, can't do any job for us!!! fukk him off!!

Well its nice to know that everyone was right during the summer when we signed him! Nice one all! Maybe the Yak will be [Poor language removed] for he rest of the year and you all can give yourself a pat on the back as well!

I remember threads like this last year, after looseing against Spurs at home in the last few minutes, people calling Moyes's head this and that!

I say now like i said then do not throw the baby out with the bathwater, one poor performence and undoubhtedly it was, doesnt make of break a players career!

One bad performence! Didnt he turn a game for us in the leauge on his first return, hasnt he played well in europe!

I may be right or wrong about this but i think some of these posts are over the top, apparently now everyone knew he was [Poor language removed] first time around! Well i didnt and dont now!

I hope i have great pleasure at reviveng this thread at a later date!

But on a more philosophical note ill leave you with these words:

Toffeeweb is dead, long live Toffeeweb.

Sorry to upset you neiler but iv alway said he was turd!! look at my previous posts iv never been a fan this time or last.......just my opinion, you can't think every player is great. i just think he's crap.

I'll still support him when he's got the blue shirt on thou. but he's still grim!!

plus iv never been on the toffeeweb forum so i dont get the tw thingy at the bottom!!

Ah but you have, unless someone has been using your name. ;)

Actually, if you click on the Toffee Web forum link, you end up here. :)

Told, i prefer to watch and judge over a period of time instead of buying into other peoples hype!

the things is neiler, you cant assume the people who were slagging him off werent slagging him off first time.

most of us did.
And ive argued the toss over gravesen with a few people who think he's great.
I'll never completely understand it but i know there are plenty, you are obviously one of them, and i'm not trying to patronise you when i say, fair play, if you enjoy watching him do what he does.

But to be honest i think he's trying to hard anyway, and i think some of the players are a bit put-off by him sauntering in and trying to take over where he left off and trying to take charge.
When he was here first time we were a team of under-achieving average players without many leaders in the team.
Now we have a team of confident maturing players, with natural leaders on the pitch and better footballers.

So as per normal i was talking utter shiite!!!

we are toffeeweb, super toffeeweb, on the net... no one likes us we dont care.................:D

As is usual with such things, who would people suggest as an alternative? I doubt Moyes sees Graveson as the ideal choice, but we all know that our hunt for a midfielder in the summer didn't work out and we needed someone to come in with very little time left. Graveson is experienced, he knows the club and could do a job filling in.

He hasn't played many games for us and when he has played he hasn't done much, but who else would you put in the team right now? The way I see it, it's either him or we put in Da Silva, or Jagielka. Midfield isn't an area of depth for us and we're without three first choice players at the moment, plus Cahill. That means the likes of him and McFadden will be getting game time, largely because we have very few options unless Moyes brings players in.

To be totaly honest bruce id rather see either of these two in the middle that grav......i just think he's that poor.

a good corner at bolton got us three points.

grateful

he wasnt fit then, and hasnt been fit since, AZ he was pedestrian.

cahill
pienaar gravesen arteta
carsley

when gravesen is in the system above he can play very well, he has to be able to sit in the middle and move the ball around, it has to be given to him and people make runs into space away from him, cars just cleans up and provides cover.

i have seen gravesen play well, he took england apart for denmark at old trafford in 2004 (not 100% on 2004, might have been 2003 it was autumn though)

saturday was beyond a nightmare though, it was a train wreck, he was an international, he got a move to real madrid, he was a capable player, currently he looks a shadow of his former eccentric self.

shape up or ship out.

That go's for a few of the clowns........:dodgy:

He won't be here after the summer, I'm fairly sure of that. He also won't be near the team if/when Osman, Arteta and Pienaar are available again, plus whoever we sign this month.

But, at the moment we need him, he's all we've got. Jags was pilloried for his displays in midfield early in the season. Da Silva is a bit of an unknown quantity. You can understand why Moyes puts him in, especially when our only other midfield options are VDM and Vidarsson.

I see your point, but after yesterday he should ever be allowed near the first team again. an if that means playing the kids, then so be it.
