Yes it's fair. And in fairness I've always said we'd do ok against the top teams, so it is a different set of expectations.
They were playijng a lot better when most of those games were being played though. Thats the cavaet really. And those sides will view the game differently too. I mean, the United game, United deserved to win and they had the same pattern of running out of ideas after 25 minutes or so. United played really badly in possession but still made the best 3 or 4 chances.
They are defensively fine, but again you do wonder how much is because sides haven't really attacked them. West Brom got 1 and declared. Southampton got 1 and declared. United only really started attacking in the last 25 minutes. I don't watch them and think "there's no chances here".
The only other thing I'd add, is I think you see how underrated their midfield was before. I remember some reds laughing at me for saying Thiago wouldn't automatically make them better. They had a well oiled machine that knew what it was doing. 3 big lads who pressed and allowed attacks to be sustained. He doesn't. I said at the time, Wijnaldum is as good as Thiago, and probably a much better fit. I have no idea why they are allowing him to leave for nothing.
What you see, from Thiago, from Chamberlain, from Keita and then your Shaqiri's/Minamino's who play in there, is none of them can even get closeto what their first choice 3 give them. The only 1 who can is Milner (who again is underrated).
I think you said the other night about getting the kids into defence. If I was Klopp I write Henderson, Fabinho & Wijnaldum down as my midfield and work back from there. At CB WIlliams is nearly 20, and Phillips is 24. They are not kids. Stick one next to Matip, and when Matip isn't fit, play them both together if needs be. All he's done by moving everyone is spread the contagian to midfield.
