ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Hilarious how out of his depth he looks without Van Dijk next to him.

Robertson as much as I hate the little rat can still defend at least, but ‘Trent’ gets skinned by any winger who runs at him.

He’s also been terrible on the ball recently.

Also, is there any other player in the league that gets referred to solely by their first name by commentators? Makes me sick every time I hear carragher say ‘Trent’
You obviously never watched the wolves v everton game last week where the commentator said the full name of ‘Pedro Neto’ every single minute and never referred to him as his first or last name only. As a commentator normally would.

if he was messi or Ronaldo I’d understand, but he’s not.

Boiled my piss.
It shouldn’t do, but it did

Yes it's fair. And in fairness I've always said we'd do ok against the top teams, so it is a different set of expectations.

They were playijng a lot better when most of those games were being played though. Thats the cavaet really. And those sides will view the game differently too. I mean, the United game, United deserved to win and they had the same pattern of running out of ideas after 25 minutes or so. United played really badly in possession but still made the best 3 or 4 chances.

They are defensively fine, but again you do wonder how much is because sides haven't really attacked them. West Brom got 1 and declared. Southampton got 1 and declared. United only really started attacking in the last 25 minutes. I don't watch them and think "there's no chances here".

The only other thing I'd add, is I think you see how underrated their midfield was before. I remember some reds laughing at me for saying Thiago wouldn't automatically make them better. They had a well oiled machine that knew what it was doing. 3 big lads who pressed and allowed attacks to be sustained. He doesn't. I said at the time, Wijnaldum is as good as Thiago, and probably a much better fit. I have no idea why they are allowing him to leave for nothing.

What you see, from Thiago, from Chamberlain, from Keita and then your Shaqiri's/Minamino's who play in there, is none of them can even get closeto what their first choice 3 give them. The only 1 who can is Milner (who again is underrated).

I think you said the other night about getting the kids into defence. If I was Klopp I write Henderson, Fabinho & Wijnaldum down as my midfield and work back from there. At CB WIlliams is nearly 20, and Phillips is 24. They are not kids. Stick one next to Matip, and when Matip isn't fit, play them both together if needs be. All he's done by moving everyone is spread the contagian to midfield.

said to my RS mates that, imo, Wijnaldum is their best midfielder. To me he does everything with little exposure. Even Henderson is a good solid midfielder every team needs.
Thiago is a luxury their whole team make up cannot absorb. Good player of which I can’t argue, but not in their system. They don’t need him.
I can’t understand why Klopp went for him unless he wants to change the way the best Liverpool team in a generation is playing. Doesn’t make sense except for vanity.

in addition........ I FKIN hate klopp and I’m laughing my nuts off at what’s happening to him/them.
I’m mid 40s and a pretty level headed bloke so I do at day this lightly, but he’s by far and away the Liverpool manager I hate the most - ever.

It's not a Blackburn 1995/1996 or Leeds 1992/1993 style of collapse after a fluke league title win, but the fall from grace of this rs side, has been enjoyable nonetheless. Especially with the way their scummy fans celebrated last summer, setting fire to the liver buildings, and being the total and utter scumbags that they are in general. But they are receiving their comeuppance now. Long may it continue.

If they fail to win the league this year and everything goes back to normal, it’s almost like that 30 year wait for the title never happened last year.. I take great pleasure it not seeing their fans celebrate properly and them lifting the trophy in front of a few groundsmen and journalists!! Hahahaha
I keep telling my rs mate “if a tree falls in the woods and no ones there to hear it, does it make a sound?” He hates it. I totally get what you’re saying. I am on the same page!

We’ve had more key players injured than them this season and Carlo just calmly says things like ‘we’ll make a move if the player is the right fit’ and talks seriously about how it’s difficult during a global pandemic.

Klopp says something along the lines of ‘Wah wah wah, I’m not going to cry like a baby, you’re crying *sniff* the nasty goalkeeper man did it and he ruined everything wah I miss big daddy Virge wah’

Theres 2 issues here really.
1) Klopps management this season
2) The wider problems of FSGs model.

His statements, via Maddocks who's a good journalist and generally supportive of their board are very telling. They are as barbed as any I remember from Benitez. They all laud Benitez, but essentially that fight he picked started a process of them being 20th in the league, from top of the league in about 18 months, with the owners gone.

The key question is why has Klopp done it now? Either it's a pressure play to get a CB, or he can see how much trouble they are in, and knows hes out his depth so getting retaliation in 1st.

You put this, next to the stuff about top 4, that is going to be sending major alarm bells with FSG in America.

The red who initially gave me the heads up that they were losing all that money in the summer (later confirmed by Richard Keys weeks later, you probably remember me putting it on here) said to me pre the Burnley game, if they miss out on CL "it will set the club back years". Hes normally fairly optimistic, so I'm inclined to believe him.

If we dont see a CB signed, you know it's the latter of the above too.

Oh, and the red social media verse have gone into meltdown about that article. Like a full on civil war. This is cops v fascists time for me, where you just grab the popcorn and watch them beat merry hell out of each other.
I though they had a comity, which he’s on when buying players, seem weird that he kicking off.
Very odd the wording as well, blaming someone else, He could say nothing or we are still looking for players but to kick up a fuss and blaming some else shows fear and worry.

Wonder which the fans will fall on
