Tried a few from (yet another) local brewery. This is from Reason Brewery, which is just over the mountain from me in Charlottesville.

The Pale Ale was decent, but nothing too great, though I think I got an old batch and would be better fresh (the "canned on" date was 11/20).



I also bought their double IPA which is delicious and very smooth. I also must say, I like the aesthetics of the branding of this brand, and their beers seem promising. @riddick Have you been here or tried their stuff?

I got in a quasi argument with a beer sales guy about how IPAs need to be treated very differently to other beers with dates. You'd THINK right 6 weeks would be TOO bad for one, right? I've had beer that was 31 days old and it was completely off. He was arguing that "there's no way you could taste the difference that early".

I'm gonna hit a few pale ales tonight with Me'hican takeaway and tequila, first up:





Like this, hoppy and hipster-ish but quite sweet and malty like a proper IPA should be. I'll keep you all updated as long as I remain coherent.

New brew from Sierra Nevada, decent enough pale ale, nowt special. Also had a pale ale from Vocation:

I've been working my way through some of Glen Affric's barrel-aged stuff tonight and dosed off. Nice surprise to wake and find a glass of their Scotch Ale looking at me.

I did look at this but couldn't agree to buy ham flavoured porter


Went for the eggnog instead

I don't think I have ever had a TR which wasn't a complete mess.

The Stay Pust Imperial range is their best beer and I generally give the new variants a try, aside from this crazy pork one! I don't buy any of their others. Have tried a couple but not to my taste.

Decent brewery, Maltgarden. My cousin has a bottle of Gate Nr.4/2020 waiting for me but we won't be seeing each other til the lockdown is relaxed. He has a Goose Island Bourbon County Stout here.

It seems they are. This is the first one I've had of theirs.

Not a massive fan of a lot of the 'pastry' stouts, prefer something like Rain Shadow or Kernel Imperial Brown, but this one is fairly well balanced considering. The dark chocolate is actually bitter which helps.

500ml bottle of 11%+ went down quite easily over 2 hours or so.

Think I may try a few more. Great value compared to Omnipollo.
