That possible horrendous fixture list is why teams not in European competition have a chance of doing better than normal.

Yep - obviously one more round above than the CL; but either way it's bananas. I think every manager will ultimately decide to prioritise one or the other come March.

Most probably mate. The shortened calendar/congested fixture list makes being competitive a lot harder for some teams but as someone pointed out last week, EUFA could again go back to each round being just the one game.

Just saw this and thought I would share....

Should Spurs have a cup run (likely with JM) - they have no wriggle room in the calendar at all.
Match V's Villa now looks likely to be cancelled.

If another of Totnam's games is to be called off cos of corona, with the Villa game being the second, the COMMON SENSE thing to do would be to play the yet to be rearranged corona hit game against Fulham on that day instead but....

Yep - no brainer, won't happen like, but makes absolutely perfect sense

Burnley Boss on COVID-19 pandemic.

We have a couple of cases, which could affect us over the next few days, it's a tough challenge for all, so we're having to be wise and push the rules as hard as we can, to stop any future cases.

Yeah - I don't forsee a league going rogue though, my gut feeling is if football (pan-European) goes on a further hiatus, which is beginning to feel more and more likely, there will be a radical calandar reshuffle at that point; but its absolute guesswork

I'll be honest mate, I think they will be terrified to stop. The problem whn you stop, it becomes harder to know when to start. The Euro's can't be moved really.

I mean just on your Jan 2022-Oct 2022 season. What happens the season after? Is that a December- September season moving forward? Do we end up permanently moving footbll to beign a summer sport? Have we any idea if anybody wants football to be played through summer? Or what impact playing in boiling hot weather will have?

Do you think there might be a possibility of scrapping the euros?

They wouldn't of course, but maybe there's a chance they might be forced into it if too many games end up getting postponed. We're probably in for a good 2-3 months of games being called off now as Europe enters its worst period of the year for virus transmission.

I just cant see whybthey would willingly do it, and lose the income from it, just to help rivals out.

We need to bin international games between now and then, esp friendlies

In here lies the problem...

There is a lad in the FA, FAI, FAW, SFA saying we need to bin the leagues and play international etc, with no one moving an inch.

For me at a minimum any Cross border travel for sport should be banned in the medium term

I think euro games between club teams isn't so much of a problem cos the teams are still in their own bubble but international matches are are a problem because you have all the different bubbles meeting up for a few days and staying in hotels together.
