Wow. That was woeful. Tried to replicate what we did at Bramall Lane against a side that simply mimicked it making for a drab contest. Richy was poor and DCL didn't have a sniff.

What I learnt/knew already and only got confirmation after that...

Don't play Holgate at centre back
Bernard isn't a starter
Davies shouldn't be anywhere near this team
Siggy's first touch is garbage and he's just too slow

Gomes looked lively when he came on. Interesting seeing him play in the 10. Would prefer him to Siggy tbh.

Gomes showed when he came on we still need a central player who can either drive past a player to disrupt the block, or find the pass to do so.

Work in progress.

It's not guile we needed, it's just pace, but more importantly movement off the ball. It was non existant.

What is important in football? One must create and utilize space. This becomes extra important when playing against teams like West Ham. We completely lack breadth and depth in our game. Throughout the match, we played on West Ham's strengths.

It’s not easy to break down a Moyes side. His subs made the difference today.

That said, I would expect James to make more of a difference.

The new Fellaini pops up with a late winner. Was like a weird flashback!

3.5 weeks out for James, always gonna be tough.

Again, the shape was the issue. It caused West Ham zero problems.

Mina was the best of an utterly horrific bad bunch but I've gone for Gomes who came on and at least offered a bit of urgency and purpose.

That truly was a shocking performance and shows you how far we've got to go. We need replacements for Coleman, Davies, Gylfi, Bernard and a better option than just relying on a sulking one trick pony like Richarlison who has been nothing short of woeful.
