We are still a way off being a top six side. We lack creativity and speed of thought. We didn’t need an awful lot to beat that West Ham side but we didn’t have it. If We are going to play the ball out through Davies we are going to be slow and going sideways at best.

Fed up with "Everton That"
I want some winners, players with a bit of pace, players that hurt when they get beat.
We all know we are in a false position, thank god there are crap teams worse than us this season.
I know it's impossible, but I would love to clear out every last one of them and start again.
Thanks for starting us off on such a good way for 2021, you feckin meffs.

Poor game from us. Just didn't come off for us. Davies MOTM. Godfrey, Holgate and Mina couldn't handle the physicality. Doucoure was very poor. Siggy and Bernard had little come off for them. James didn't impact the game but coming back from injury. A really horrible game to lose
Davies mom? Which game were you watching lad? Should be sold ASAP. Awful.

Pickford - 7 - MOTM for us because he made two good saves.
Coleman - 4 - Crap. So negative, just constantly chopped back, and we look inbalanced with one actual FB and one centre-back playing on the other side.
Mina - 7 - He actually did defend well, bar at the end with that comical fall.
Holgate - 5 - Passing was dreadful. He shouldn't be playing left side, as he just chops back onto his better foot constantly.
Godfrey - 5 - His poorest game for us in a while. He isn't going to offer much going forward and in games like this when we need that impetus he looked lost.
Davies - 3 - did okay in the first half, was dreadful in the second.
Doucoure - 5 - poor movement off the ball and when he had it he went back into his shell.
Sigurdsson - 2 - abysmal, and shouldn't be playing anywhere other than at no.10. Not in this weird V shape midfield.
Bernard - 4 - tried to make stuff happen but so slow and weak.
Richarlison - 2 - really poor, but why not change it and push him central alongside Dom? Mix it up!
Dom - 4 - fed off scraps.

Gomes - 6 - actually was positive but we know when he starts games he goes into his shell
James - 5 - tried to make stuff happen but everything too bogged down.
Tosun - n/a

Carlo - 3 - he got done today, and his system doesn't work in games like this. It's too wide, funnelling everything into the same area of the pitch. The subs were too late and then the Tosun one is baffling. Not sure if it's him or Davide (know he has a lot to do with it) but it was shocking.

Bad night all round. Got to get back on the horse with the cup and then a massive trip to Wolves. Can't let this be the start of a slump.

However, the onus has to be on the board and Brands to go out and get signings. Not at the end of the window, we need one or two in asap. Spend the money and we can still push for the top four places.

Poor tonight, should have just taken the point and moved on but we couldn't even achieve that, went for Doucoure motm, not great by any means but at least tried to get us going

Get a grip Tim. We're 4th, not exactly loser mentality stuff. We were beaten by an unfortunate goal from a well drilled team.

You could tell we were nervous and timid from minute 1 with our short square and back passes. Top teams don't play as poor as that on a bad day, and thats why we will be a nearly team this year.

You need consistency and responsibility on the pitch but no one put their hand up. In fact one or two shyed away. I'm not overreacting because we've done as well as expected but today was a real let down. They let down the manager above all.
