I agree entirely with you. I was suggesting we wait until January to see what might be available but was shot down. I think we should if need try our young players coming through.

Sure King is only on £40/50k pw at Bournemouth. They are not high payers.. However the rumours are he is asking for around that figure for his new contract, which is ridiculous for us if he is going to be a back up.

Don't think we need him to step up a level. If it was to step up a level then I am sure it would be to replace DCL or Richarlison and that would have to be some kind of club transfer record. It is the adequate cover that is needed for those said players and King can fill both.........not as good but would keep us relatively on par and wouldn't be a disaster. Simms is unknown and cannot be risked as cover until we see what he can do at top level. I think King would be the best cover we could hope for as he does cover at least 2 positions

Still maintain I wouldn't mind him if it is a reasonable deal. £15m fee, 50k p/w wages and 2 year deal with maybe option for a third. Think he offers us a decent back up option to DCL

Maybe it is because he plays wide left as much as being a striker. He can bring players into play and has pace to burn which is ideal for a counter.
