I was being hyperbolic but I do think we need to stop prioritizing him over young players with bigger futures when we're talking about a bench spot. Same case can be made for Iwobi I suppose but even he has more ahead of him than Bernard.

I like him, I’d rather have Bernard in the middle than Gomes. Gomes doesn’t do enough for me and Bernard has scored and assisted more than Gomes since they’ve both been at the club. However don’t get me wrong, they both go missing and drift in and out of games, just like James does. This is why we are not gonna be in the top 3 this year. James, Bernard and Richarlison would be tasty I think

Bernard simply isnt worth the wedge he is paid.

Decent player but for £120k+ a week you can find much better.

This is it really. I actually think Walcott, Iwobi and even Sigurdsson, Delph etc are serviceable top flight players but you don't want some of your highest earners warming the bench every week as you are not getting decent value out of their weekly wage.
