I agree that i can see him being unmotivated and have a poor attitude.
I'm not so sure iwobi is the same as delph though. He has a crack, it's just not even iwobi knows what iwobi's about to do.

That would leave us with Doucoure, Allan, Gomes and Sigurdsson as central midfielders , that is not going to happen.
We would be an injury away from a crisis.

I moved your post from the holgate thread.

Hes 22 now and while Holgate and DCL have shown what they could do in flashes, Davies has never done much other than run around alot. He doesnt have any outstanding atrributes.

Weve got about 9 midfielders and alot of deadwood out of contract next summer and in 2022. Davies though has a deal till 2023.

If we are going to move him on then now should be the time.

Davies + Delph + Besic alone could be £18mil and £130-150k a week in wages saved.

Thats almost what we paid for Allan/Doucoure.

We have Gbamin coming back and we also have James who I think will play a lot of games in the midfield 3 this season against lesser opposition. That's 6 players for 3 positions

One of those has not kicked a ball for us in twelve months , is after two long term injuries and we have no idea where he is fitness wise. and somehow I doubt that Carlo expects JR to be shoring up a depleted centre midfield and I would guess that JR expects to do so even less.

If Tom Davies is sold, I definitely think he will have to be replaced.

I’d have him here any day of the week - and twice on a Sunday rather than splash a load of cash on Zaha! If it’s true they want £40m for him - Marcel could easily do the deal at around £20m
