This is the sort of stat that people look at and go “see, look how lazy he is!” yet the reason he didn’t sprint is because he didn’t have to. He knew exactly where to be on the pitch and when to be there, and he was 3 steps ahead of every other player on the pitch. Another level entirely, and more proof that stats are meaningless.

@Gilbert.. compared him to David Silva and I think that’s a great comparison. You didn’t see him sprinting all over the pitch. Arguably he became even more influential to city as he got to his late 20s and early 30s were he relied upon his football intelligence then speed to influence games.
