A Personal Appeal to David Moyes; Russian Roulette

Moyes has never played Billy in his favoured position, which is the Cahill role. When Cahill goes to the asian cup i know for a fact Billy won't take up that position, Moyes has already said he'd like Arteta to play there, he's been poop, I would like Arteta to be on the bench for a bit but Moyes is guaranteed to play him and that pee's me off.

Billy needs games and starting games his confidence is shot, i really hope moyes plays him in the cahill role but i just can't see it, he ain't no winger either. I really feel for the fella.
I'd also like Gueye to play some games and Beckford, but hey this is a Billy thread.

If Billy gets games in the right position i can see him gaining confidence and banging in the goals like Van der vart. Moyes needs to be told! and with a slap on his face to help sink it in!!

VDV is a good example. Clearly Bily's not on the same level, but VDV has proven you don't need to be a physical player to thrive in that kind of role in this league. You just need a bit of vision, guile, a knack for finding space, a good shot and all the kind of attributes Bily does actually have. Said attributes have no doubt been buried underneath a lack of minutes, confidence and support, but class doesn't go away.

he scored like 8 goals last year right??? not bad for someones first year in the EPL, basically playing back to back seasons and with limited opportunities

In terms of goals to games ratio he was our 3rd highest scorer.

Not one of them from a set piece and a lot of them being outrageous screamers, very impressive indeed.

Another corker to add to his collection today.

He's quality, at the end of the day. He's not perfect, but if Moyes is any kind of manager he should be able to utilise the massive amount of talent Bily possesses. With a bit of confidence, and some real game time, Bily could become one of the best midfielders in the league, I really believe that. I just wish Moyes did too.

That he could, as you say he just needs to boost his confidence and get some game time, although if he keeps scoring goals like he did before then he will have confidence by the ton.

He may not do much, but he scores.

And to be honest he has reasons for being lazy, last season he mustve been shattered, and this season well, he has barely played, and when he has its been about 10 minutes at the end.

All of his goals are quality goals, and the reason Cahill stays on the pitch is because he scores, well Bily can score from nothing, just like Cahill, but he gets more assists, and has better passing.

He deserves to play, deserves to have a run of games atleast till the end of the season, he could get another 5 goals this season without doubt

I'd like that. In fact we all would.

Dear David,

We all know that Diniyar is about as useful defensively as a golden retriever, and he has the physical fortitude of a used condom, but David. David. Who else can take the ball 30 yards out, and instead of falling over it, losing it, passing it backwards or shooting into the stands, shoot it into the top corner? No one.

Play him behind the striker, please. Pleasey weasey. He's got a left foot crafted by the Gods, and a defensive mind crafted by Kevin Keegan. Utilise him. Play to his strengths.

He hasnt been great overall to be honest, you cant hit 30 yarders every week, he needs to impact on the game consistently. If he hadnt of scored he would have played poorly.

That's the thing though, mate. He's not going to turn into Pienaar. In the AM role he'll have less to do going back, and more chances to shoot.

His shot to goal ratio must be ace.

Dear David, upon looking on the official Everton site's player roster, I noticed we have someone called "Diniyar Bilyaletdinov" amongst our ranks. Apparently he cost us £9 million last year, and was highly rated in his homeland.

Seeing as this season, we are -- for lack of a more eloquent phrase -- bombastically ****, would it be possible for you to try playing this Russian guy?

I have attached a video clip I found on youtube so you can have a look at him. I think he looks quite good, personally, even with the pre-pubescent tache. He also seems to have a knack for scoring some double-take inducing goals, from out of nowhere. I'd say we need that.

Thanks Davie.

You see, this is the problem.

It's all opinion of course, but I'd say he's been about as effective as several other players on the pitch, yet without that goal people will still focus on the negatives.

He's been far more involved than usual, actual put himself about a lot more, at one point conceding a foul, and looked neat and tidy in places.

That can all improve, and will with games.
