Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

ALLAWAY: I have to step up

Fylde are on a remarkable run of form in the Football League Two this season remaining unbeaten in the opening 12 fixtures winning nnine. Fylde have started better than anyone would have expected but manager Duncan Ferguson has remained tight lipped and not got ahead of himself just yet.
Sam Allaway was signed by Ferguson at the beginning of the 2026/27 season but damaged his cruciate ligaments in pre-season. He managed to play 11 games at the end of the season and scored 7 vital goals to help Fylde go up as National League champions. So far this season he has scored three out of nine appearances but has struggled for form recently and found himself out of the squad.
"I'm working hard every day to prove I have a place at this club. My job is to score goals and I need to be more prolific. My recent form is a blip and I am determined to put it right. I'm feeling in good condition and want to be playing more games. I love it at this football club, there is a lot of top talent here and the standards are high. There is no place to be lackadaisical."

I believe in Sam Allaway.

After this enforced midseason break he'll be all fired up. Once he starts scoring, he won't be able to stop.

Rochdale vs AFC Fylde

With a trip to Rochdale on Tuesday night, Ferguson made some changes with Josh Ferguson taking to the bench and O'Neill replacing him. Paul Townsend started the game up top. Rochdale tested Foster throughout the first half but nothing too concerning for Fylde. At the other end, Ferguson was urging Townsend to get more into the match and create space for attacking moves. Fylde were playing it round nicely, patiently looking for the opening, Henderson tried a shot from outside the box and the keeper tipped it wide. Fylde were still trying for the opening but remaining cautious not to lose possession in a dangerous area, Morton crossed into the box and Townsend was pushed by Hughes, the referee had a clear view and pointed to the spot. You never knew what to expect from Henderson but he didn't disappoint getting his 11th goal of the season! It should have been another with five minutes to go when second half substitute Callum Simpson crossed in for Johnson who tried to chip the keeper instead of placing the shot. Ferguson was furious with him on the sidelines. Fylde just had to get through stoppage time. Callum Simpson was tackled cheaply which launched a Rochdale attack but Feeney was cool and cleared the danger, Johnson brought it forward and all they had to do was keep the ball. Fylde saw the game out and recorded a good away win!

DF: O'Neill played well in the attacking midfield role tonight and this gives us another option in that position, he showed maturity. Nathan Smith was solid at the back and the defence kept their heads, I'm happy with their performance.

Mick Wisdom suffered a slight injury in training but made the bench, Pope and McGavin linked up in the centre and Pope was enjoying the opening 15 minutes with some precise passing forward and excellent tackling. The midfielder had recently been called up to the England U20's squad for the matches next week. Henderson had the best chance on 40 minutes after Townsend played him in but his shot was tipped wide by the keeper. Ther goal came for Fylde three minutes later when Johnson took Pope's pass in his stride, played it into the path of Henderson who was no doubt going to score and he slotted into the bottom corner! Johnson found Townsend outside the box but the striker put his shot just wide of the post on 60 minutes, a begging chance for the striker. The chance was crucial as three minutes later Mitchell whipped in the free-kick from 25 yards out into the box, Marriott left his marker and headed against Foster, he was there for the follow up and slotted to equalise. Tyrone O'Neill replaced Townsend on 65 minutes and minutes later got on the end of Morton's cross with an exceptional volley that he blazed over from 6 yards out! How on earth did he miss that? The game entered stoppage time and Fylde were creative in the final third, some nice passing between Henderson and Ferguson, allowed Ferguson to cross into the box for Johnson who had his shot blocked. The game ended as a draw and it boiled down to the chance missed by Tyrone O'Neill which should have changed the outcome of this game.

Next up for Fylde is the second fixture in the Checkatrade Trophy away at Burton Albion. Fylde won their first game beating Norwich U23's 4-2 and a win over Burton could see them progress into the second round.

What's this tit ferguson playing at leaving All The Way out of the team. Furious here
I dunno. Allaway is not doing the biz at the minute. Hendo is carrying him. However, after that knock, it'll take time. What with the 2 month break, and the strong position we're in, and the rumours coming out of my contact at the Coaster's canteen, he's looking fit and ready and full of confidence. I suspect he's going to come in blazing in the middle of the season and keep us out ahead of everyone.

Come on the Invicibles!

I've got a piece of cardboard and a felt tip pen. I WILL make a banner if i have to.

If it rains though I've wasted my time.

I think that says

Play

Sam Dunc v Ou Idio T

If I'm not mistaken l, Ou Idio T is a central midfielder who Dunc has been scouting for the last two months in Barcelona.

Don't know who Sam Dunc is though mate, I'll check my sources and see what they say.
Correct, there's 1 spot left in the squad and it's 3 minute x 3 rounds in the training ground car park bare knuckle between Sam Dunc and Ou Idio T to see who deserves it.

Oooooo that sounds like fun. Hopefully they wait until I've watched Neighbours and Countdown, had a fry up, quick paddle in the pool outside, bit of shopping at Hoke&Bargain, Rob a trolley from the local market, build a bonfire, nip round to Tracy's for you know what, chips egg and beans for tea and then straight over the road to catch the 8b bus, then bunk onto the 14f straight to the car park to watch a good old fashioned genuine heartfelt illegal scrap
