Allison....primeWell that's not what I mean though. And honestly you can take Spurs off that list before last summer because it was only then that they went into the "try and buy players who can instantly make an impact at huge prices" strategy. Even then Lo Celso and Ndombele aren't old.
What I do mean is that we can't look at City or the RS and say "they bought a bunch of players in their prime so that is the way." There are certainly lessons to take from each side, most notably the way they committed to buying the players that fit the managers preferred system and style of play, but the actual transfer strategy was essentially to buy the best player that fit the requirements and that really isn't something we can do as the best players aren't coming here.
