Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Spot on.

I used to hate summers because there was no football.

I counted the Saturdays down all through June and July.

Now I enjoy summer because of the lack of football.

I used to hate international breaks with a passion.

Now I appreciate the respite.

And right now I am not missing the football one little bit.

The drug has indeed worn off for me.
I’m exactly the same mate I’m not the slightest bit arsed that Everton aren’t playing or that there’s no football to watch. I guess it’s indicative of me falling out of love with it and I’m pretty sure one day I’ll stop watching it all together.

Is it just me that’s finding the actions of the PL and some PL clubs completely distasteful.

The PL for seemingly being hell bent on trying to play football.

PL clubs the same but also making the lowest paid employees at their club take a pay cut whilst the multi millionaire players are protected.

All this whilst 100’s and thousands are dead or dying from this awful virus.

They should hang their collective heads in shame.

Football is currently a complete irrelevance right now.

What some people don't get about this, is that even when this crisis finally comes to an end and the majority of us return to something
approaching normality the medical services will still be worked to the bone and pushed to breaking point for the foreseeable future. They won't have time to oversee sports ffs. It's not difficult to understand, football simply isn't a priority to the world right now and the sooner the football authorities faced up to reality of this and admitted it the better.

Just tells you all you need to know about modern football. Gravy train for the players whilst the fans pay through the nose.

Hang on, are the clubs claiming 80% of players wages off the government as per other employers? Or are they getting paid 100%? Disgusting either way.

This is absolutely right. My understanding is many NHS staff have had annual canceled with all training stopped. This is going to cause a massive backlog even when the worst of the Coronavirus is over. Plus Tory cuts of the nursing bursary is only making things worse. There won't be any cavalry coming over the hill.

Instead of clapping, we should be looking at decent payrises for all NHS and social care staff and the scrapping of student nursing debt. We have the mad situation were student nurses are going into work and paying for the privelege. Maybe Everton and RS millionaire players could donate to a fund to help them.?

Think they can claim up to about £2,500 a month per employee. That's probably what Niasse "earns" in an hour! :(

Wimbledon is going to be cancelled today... It was to be played in June/July....so the Tennis World is accepting even in July sporting events aren't possible not matter what the tradition... And Tennis is definitely a sport that could have been played behind closed doors...

It shows the shear greed of football the longer they "consider their options"...

This can't be right ?

Weirdly I think it probably is! You only have to see the pictures on a match day - thousands sat in big blocks wearing their half and half scarves and sat filming the game on their i pads! Add in the Norwegian element, and those from stockbroker belt Surrey and that must be a good 20,000 “tourists” over there every couple of weeks

Try telling that to one or two or even “four” in the Club Statement, Coronavirus thread @bullybeef who are gagging to get this season finished and completed (can’t think why?)!

Sadly the whole Coronavirus situation will help the PL brush their horrific use of VAR under the rug unchallenged for a further season.

People will be too excited for football to start to care/demand for the officials to look at the laws/interpretation of VAR thus more shady decisions to look forward to next season.

The clubs will be all over it , City and United will be 100% challenging the way that Liverpool got literally every 50/50 checked by VAR and the bias slowed down when they were miles clear

100% this. The FA treating the non-LFC supporting public like we're either blind or stupid.

Enable them a huge lead, then when it's in the bag, even the numbers out for the end of season statistics.
