ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Realistically if you take bias out of it.

Why would you void a season that is more than 75 percent complete and can be completed in less than 4 weeks? Given the financial and legal issues.

The legal problems of voiding would be too vast. Teams have spent vast amounts on borrowed money from revenue streams that will not pay up if the season isnt finished I.e (tv rights, broadcasting money).

If they finish the games there are no arguments and no legal ramifications. Teams have already spent this years sponsorship money and therefore will operate at a loss and will fail FFP. Everton are currently already operating at a loss.

Next years season can be delayed as long as possible as there is no ruling in when it can start and no future money will be lost. Therefore, finishing this season will not impact the finances of next season one iota.

The Chinese Super League has already announced to restart their season and it was impacted greatly.

The agenda to void was only a pie in the sky agenda made by a manchester journalist. It's only been voided once prior to WW2 when only 3 league games had been played- this season is 29 games in. Everton won the league in 1914-15 in the outbreak of world war 1 and played every game.

I think we need to show a bit of class and stop using a deadly pandemic in the hope's of our closest rivals from losing the title.

I will be going into self isolation for the inevitable parade

What happens with all the player contracts that are due to expire in June? If this season continues sometime after June (it's looking unlikely it would be anytime before then), won't clubs be without players whose contracts are up and become free agents? Surely that impacts the competition. And how do the European competitions complete given each country is likely to be in isolation for differing periods?

How can they lose what they haven't won?

Well assuming you support a club that decides to not renew a contract then they are obviously not seen as a valuable asset and will be released from the club pending their contract in June. If they were leaving why would it matter for them to play a few loose end games?

Or, if it is a player who is deemed worthy then surely they would.have had their contract sorted out way before now. Guess this little isolation period will.give time for some nice contracts to be drawn up.

There doesnt seem to be any real obstacle here does there?

You're overlooking the fact that some players themselves are actively running down contracts so they can move clubs in the summer. If the league doesn't start up again until July / August the likes of Fernandinho and Alderwiereld will have left City and Spurs respectively and may have joined other clubs - how can that be a fair situation?

They will effectively counter that by being able to sign players also in that period making the 'unfair' arguement pointless.

If you believe clubs are going to avoid playing only 9 games to miss out on over 80+million then I envy your innocence.

Finishing the season would massively benefit lower league clubs such as the championship and league 1- which concerns me the most. It would also possibly be an incentive for PL clubs to use this cash reserve to help them.

Hang on, so with 9 games left to play you are saying clubs can go out and buy more players in this 'down period'. Again, how is that fair to the likes of Sheff Utd who are battling for a CL place if the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea can splash millions on new players for the last 9 games??!!

You haven't thought this through lad have you?
