ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Just been listening to Radio Merseyside. Lots of people phoning in about what the next few months holds for them. One lad said due to his restaurant being forced to close, he'll be laid off with literally no money. He'll have no money for food, let alone bills and rent. Also pensioners terrified of enforced social isolation and the depression that comes with it. In this context no one is going to give a feck about the RS missing out on the title. Well apart from Kieran and Havrey.

But Villa and Bournemouth are in the relegation zone, so why wouldn’t they want it voided to remain in the league? I’ve already explained that voiding the season WOULDN’T mean everyone finishing in their current positions. That cannot happen, that’s lawsuit city.

But voiding without doing so isn't lawsuit city?

Just to be clear, that's your position on this one?

West Ham would want the season voided because, in either scenario, in either interpretation I put forth, they remain in the league - which is their goal.

Villa and Bournemouth definitely wouldn't, if voiding meant that everyone is awarded based on their current positions in the league, because they will firmly believe they can get out of their current position if given a 38 game season.

They would be in favour, I assume, if voiding meant that the league resumes next season with the same 20 teams, no promotions and no relegations.

Again, boils down to what is interpreted by the term 'voiding', what happens off the back of any voiding and what the consequences would look like.
Your first scenario is not voiding. It is declaring the season complete as it currently stands.

Void - 'not valid or legally binding'.

Pretty clear definition. When people say declare season void it means it didn't happen and we start again on day 1 2020/21 in the same league as start of 2019/20. Also does not enable headstarts of points or the other ridiculous suggestions I've seen as the season is VOID.

There is no ambiguity with what void means.

If any team could get a special dispensation to get around the definition of ‘void’ it would be them.

Right how are they going to decide the fixtures?

Liverpool play 2 home games against SAFE teams by any chance?!?

Nah Void this League now it's the ONLY fair way. I feel for promoted teams but honestly it's never going to be fair for any team so why should we just consider just 1 team over the ENTIRE Football League

Realistically if you take bias out of it.

Why would you void a season that is more than 75 percent complete and can be completed in less than 4 weeks? Given the financial and legal issues.

The legal problems of voiding would be too vast. Teams have spent vast amounts on borrowed money from revenue streams that will not pay up if the season isnt finished I.e (tv rights, broadcasting money).

If they finish the games there are no arguments and no legal ramifications. Teams have already spent this years sponsorship money and therefore will operate at a loss and will fail FFP. Everton are currently already operating at a loss.

Next years season can be delayed as long as possible as there is no ruling in when it can start and no future money will be lost. Therefore, finishing this season will not impact the finances of next season one iota.

The Chinese Super League has already announced to restart their season and it was impacted greatly.

The agenda to void was only a pie in the sky agenda made by a manchester journalist. It's only been voided once prior to WW2 when only 3 league games had been played- this season is 29 games in. Everton won the league in 1914-15 in the outbreak of world war 1 and played every game.

I think we need to show a bit of class and stop using a deadly pandemic in the hope's of our closest rivals from losing the title.

I will be going into self isolation for the inevitable parade
