... so it's in the rules that for the league competition to be valid, all games must be played.

Pages 173-175 of the Premier League Rulebook do not say when the games must be played, so in theory a postponed fixture can be rescheduled to whenever they like. However, it's clear that all games must be played for the league competition to be valid, so they can't just call the season "as is" and declare the positions final.

When those rules drawn up there was not a virus problem.

They'll never void the season they'll just force the games through whenever so the relegated/promoted/champions don't take the FA to the cleaners.
They will they have a get out...act of god, force majeure, bigger boys made me do it (govt.) whatever
By all accounts (needs verification) the prem own rules state...if you dont finish your fixtures you can't be champions

The germans have acted - abandoned, no winner
Others will do similar, if they havent done so. UEFAs hand thus forced, they'll go with that. Saves them getting the stick.

Regardless of our own performances and results since August, for me personally, this season is shaping up to be one of the greatest in living memory

Season was a complete farce anyway. Everyone’s forgotten the absolute shambles of the beginning of the season when VAR was ignoring blatant handballs and offside goals just to give Liverpool a win in every single game. They’d won all but one game prior to Watford FFS. Remember the City game? Blatant pen disallowed and an onside goal chalked off against them, then Salah was offside when he scored. Or Leicester when Mane fell over some air and got a penalty for nothing. Then when you add in some blatant matchfixing through goalkeeping errors then having this whole sham cancelled by a pandemic is probably a fitting end to the most shameful season in premier league history.

Aha! In the definitions "Season" is defined as "the period beginning on the date of the first fixture on the league's fixture list and ending on the date of the last"

So you have to complete the fixtures.

Yes, but critically it doesn't give set dates.

Still have to complete the fixtures or agree an abridged fixture list by my reading. And i can't see what's in that for anybody not currently in a European spot or currently in the bottom 3.

The sight of them being desperate enough to go to court to get their hands on a trophy would be hilarious, though.

But RAWK was adamant it was us and City, adamant.

Teams, realistically who will want it cancelled:

Us
City
Spurs
Anyone in danger of relegation fight

Not canceled:

Trickys
Arsenal - Want to be in CL, not EL
United - Same as above
Leicester - want to be in Europe in either comp

16 plays 4. Majority in my book

This issue is, the RS and United are the golden boys. It would not in any way shock me if their interests alone trump the other 18 prem teams and everyone else in the EFL

I think Sheff U and Wolves would be added to the not cancelled list, plus Chelsea who have retained CL status. City might even want their league cup win to be valid. Think it would be difficult to get 14 in favour of voiding.

Sorry, yeah Sheff United too

Wolves would probably accept another year in EL, realistically they're not finishing fourth.

I still make it 15
